Trouble with Safariland models

I’m looking for an als holster to mount on my brokos belt. I’d like a model that mounts below the inner belt, similar to the bladetech DOH. At this point, I’m overwhelmed trying to figure out which model would best meet my needs. Can you guys help point me in the right direction? Pistol is an M&P 9 fullsize. TIA, mtdawg169.

below the belt? like a drop leg? or mount it on the inner belt with the belt loop mounting hardware and come on the outside of the brokos? Also just a button lock or hood?

Would the 6395 or the 6390 paired with the MLS mount be what you’re looking for?

That is essentially the same setup that I have on my Brokos belt, for my G17. I initially got a Safariland 6377, then I purchased a mid-ride belt loop adapter(http://www.opticsplanet.net/safariland-mid-ride-belt-loop-adapter-ubl-style-belt-loop-only-mid-ride-drop-ubl-2in.html), so that i could drop the holster below the inner belt line(Which I’m assuming is where you want it.). The only problem is that the VTAC cobra inner belt is 1.75", and the belt loops on the mid-ride adapter are for 2" belts. But all I did was fill the remaining gap in the belt loops with 550 cord. This setup has worked great for me so far. You obviously could also just get a 2" inner belt. But I’m a cheapskate.

Mounted on the inner belt with a dropped belt loop. Button lock.

just an fyi from personal experience, if you get a “paddle” mounted holster and put a belt loop adapter on it will sit very low, way low…

I’m currently looking at going with a Safariland holster with G-Code’s RTI adapter and their duty/drop belt attachment in combination with a HSGI SGPB. However, I currently don’t have any of those components for what I’m setting up, but I am looking to order the items over the next couple of weeks or so.

In addition to the drop feature and being able to mount both on a belt and ability to be used with a duty/battle belt like the Brokos, HSGI or USGG Infidel belt, I also wanted the ability to quickly swap out holsters for different guns without having to restring the belt attachment.

I also considered the BladeTech DOH with TekLok, but I think I’m going with the G-Code system.

How quickly is quickly? And the reason to swap out holsters?

Safariland only has three hex screws…if you have 3 minutes it would only take that much without spending you more $$ than you need to.

I’ve been looking at the 6395 & 6377. Are the only differences the mounts?

I believe the 6395 comes with a “hood guard” and yes the mount.

This is what I’m talking about:

I had a similar setup and it was very uncomfortable.

But if you are dead set, that is a paddle holster 6377 with a drop adapter.

Basically exactly what I’m looking for. Did you have to custom order the tan?

Also, the mid ride sits lower than I thought it would. I was thinking about the low ride, but your pics have me second guessing that idea.

Voodoo,

I missed this post a moment ago. Uncomfortable how? Did it dig into your thigh? What would you recommend?

Unless you are just standing there it will not be comfortable.

I had issues sitting, moving quickly without it snagging my leg as well as the ability to quick draw.

I was just testing it out to see what happens, nothing specific and it did not work. It just sits too low.

I’m currently running a RCS Phantom and feel like it’s a little too high. I’m cramped when reaching up to grip the pistol. This is why I was thinking about a lower position for the holster. What mount would you recommend?

I assume it sits slightly higher than it should because of the brokos. How does it sit just on your regular belt - since that is what you are looking to recreate (forgive me for assuming).

The belt line is the best way to mount a holster, unless you are wearing armor.

What is your setup (with or without armor ?)?

You’re correct, I would like for it to be closer to my normal belt line. The brokos rides above it slightly. I’m not wearing armor. The brokos is strictly for range work & training.

No. It was one of the color options at Optics Planet. I went with this setup so that I could run the belt with, or without armor. It cleared my side plates just right on my TAG Rampage PC(Which I have since sold.), so that I could draw quickly with no obstruction. That said, I don’t run the Brokos with a PC anymore, and still prefer this configuration to having the holster straight on the belt(Which I too, felt was a bit high for my liking.). FWIW I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. But different strokes for different folks.
