Hey guys and gals,
As the title suggests, I’m a bit worried about a box of Magtech .45acp 230 grain FMJ. I was at the range today, firing at a 50 yard target when I noticed that some of the bullets seemed to be doing a nose dive and striking the dirt about 10-20 yards short. I was shocked, but continued target practice, checking the barrel for an obstruction after every shot. Out of 30 cartridges , my wife and I estimate that five fell short in this fashion. My armscor 1911 clone cycled just fine, although the slide lock failed to engage on several occasions. The pistol is fairly new, so that could be another problem entirly.
So I’m left with a few questions in my mind and I would really appreciate help answering them. First, am I right in thinking of this as problem an ammuntion problem? Second, has anyone else had this problem with magtech ammunition? Third, should I keep using this box of ammunition?
