Trouble concealing...

I recently added a set of ct laser grips to my g26 for concealed carry and it prints terribly now. I’m not a big guy so it’s hard enough to conceal without them. I wanted a good option for low light situations or an instance where I have to shoot from an awkward position. I looked at the ct laser guards but comp tac doesn’t make a holster to fit them. Anyone else have this issue? If so, how did you address it?

I used the search but didn’t see anything regarding this.

How are you attempting to carry the G26; OWB, IWB, AIWB?

IWB with a comptac. Ive tried moving everywhere from 1:00-4:30 but it still sticks out.

I could switch over to the laserguards but I’ll also have to go with a different holster system. Comptac doesn’t accommodate the laserguards.

I’d like to hear of anyone having success in concealing these or have people just opted to ditch them and stick with some good night sights?

Yes, Im thinking some adjustmenuts need to be made to how you carry. Im 5’11" and about 155lbs and carried my G22 for two years before I got my 23. Then 23 DISAPEARS under anything but the most fitted Tshirt. My 27 is my on duty BUG/I really dont feel like carrying gun.

Every body is different and you will have to play with it, at some point you should be able to find a spot on your body that makes the gun melt away. For me if my gun is at 3 or 4 oclock it prints but at 330 it disapears.

Does your holster have adjustable cant? I would try messing with the cant and ride height and see if any of that helps.

I don’t have any on my Glocks but I have one on my M&P 40c and it seems to conceil as well as my G26 or G27. I wear all three at 4:00 with a RM Lowrider IWB holster.

one piece of advice that all concealed carriers need to keep in mind : no one can see your gun.

This is always good to keep in mind.

Second would be to modify your wardrobe; no more Abercrombie/Banana Republic or other tight fitting shirts.

But realistically no one knows that your laser grip is attached to a pistol under your shirt.

99.999999% of people around you are oblivious to their surroundings and are paying absolutly 0 to you printing. Don’t sweat it and everything is going to be fine. I carry a G29 brick over half of the time and never had an issue. You
could walk around with a SBR AR under your shirt and no one would probably notice!

True, I remember years back when I first started carrying no matter how baggy of a shirt I wore I thought I stuck out like a sore thumb with a sign on my back that read “I have a gun”. Now a days I don’t even give it a second thought.

Concealing a gun at first gets you the wrong feeling…its like having something stuck between your teeth, you think its the size of a rock and yet it is not.

I carry a g21 a work, concealed. No one ever sees it.

ever.

My suggestion would be loose the CT, get good night sites, and a RM Low Rider holster, and your all set.

I have several holsters from Adams Holsters and none of my carry weapons print, stick out, etc… These IWB holsters ride the weapon tight to your body, and provide a nice sweat shield which protects your hide from all of the pieces that could wear a hole in it.

That’s a good point. Even though I’ve been carrying the past few years I’m still hyper sensitive to any indication that I have something under my shirt. Sounds like I’m back to trying to find a better position for concealment again. Just wasnt sure if this was a common issue with the laser grips.

If I can’t find a better spot I may just change to laserguards and a new holster.

Something you may want to try is to time yourself with and without the laser.

I timed myself at close range (inside 7 yards) and found I was faster in low light using night sights than I was with the laser. It seems the time spent locating the dot was actually slowing me down. After testing myself over several months with no real change, I pulled the laser grip off my pistol and depend on the night sights.

This is probably not true for all folks, but it seems it would be worth checking since even fractions of a second could matter.

As a side note, difference was more pronounced when I was moving.

I was the same way for about the first six months that I started carrying. I would worry about reaching too high to get something in the grocery store in fear of “exposing” deadly pistol, but it eventually passed. Heck, I hardley even think about having it on at all anymore. I would just keep the CT’s on and try to get use to them and I’m sure you will soon notice that no one has a clue you are armed.
