I know of one other instance, but has anyone had a tritium tube fall out and had success fixing it themselves? I installed my new sights today and the cover and white ring from the front sight struck me in the face. It actually stuck to my sweaty forehead, so I have it. I was hoping to be able to repair it permanently on my own rather than sending stuff around and waiting.
Just contact the manufacturer of the sight and have em warranty it. That is not something I would want possibly failing at a later date due to an inexperienced repair.
Trijicon has been having lots of issues lately. I lost the tritium element in a front sight completely not long ago. If the sights are aftermarket, contact the people you bought them from. If they are factory, call up the factory and let them know what’s up.
Conclusion from the mfg: No reliable way to put them in. There will be possible solvent or oil concerns. The good news is both the retailer and mfg have given me a dozen different ways to correct it, all of them are satisfactory. It pays to deal with site sponsors.
i have 2 dead tritium sights at the moment…
