I’m looking to swap my ATACR 1-8 for a VCOG 1-8. Just wondering if the SCO is worth the extra coin? I do like the Christmas tree MIL reticle which only seems to be available for the SCO. Thoughts?

I’m super fond of my VCOG 1-6. Possibly my favorite LPVO. I chose it because I like the BDC reticle better than the mil reticle in the SCO. But if you like the reticle, yeah, go for it.
Is the reticle etched?
Yes, and the housing is forged as well. Mount is stupid easy to use no need for bubble leveling.
Yes I love that it has an integrated mount. Even after leveling the ATACR it still didn’t seem level to me. Great scope but I wasn’t crazy about the eye relief at 8x. I’ll be selling it and buying the Trijicon. I think I’ll go with the SCO since I’m used to the Christmas tree.
I’ve avoided purchasing the VCOG 1-8x to stick with the VCOG 1-6x because of the Christmas tree. I really like the 1-6x’s and ACOG’s BDC reticles.
So I checked out the VCOG, I actually thought the 1-6 looked better for me. I struggled with the eyebox on the 1-8 then again it wasn’t on a rifle. I guess the ATACR looks better overall. I’m wondering if I should just get the NX8 (expert pricing) and call it a day for my other 16” (HK MR556). How is the NX8?
