Trijicon TR24 vs. NightForce 1-4x24 NXS vs. Leupold 1.5x5 MR/T

I own a LMT CQB MRP and have basically narrowed it down to these choices of optics:

Trijicon TR24

NightForce 1-4x24 NXS

Leupold 1.5x5 MR/T

I basically want a versatile optic 0-350 yards. Any experienced help would be appreciated.

thanks! how would you compare the FC-2 to the leupold mr/t 1.5-5?

i think im going to go with the trijicon. thanks for the review i needed that

I prefer the TR24 as one of the best 0-300yd optics out there in triangle reticle form, because it’s so quick up close. Past 250m it’s starting to give up some of the performance - glass is great, but the holdover starts putting the target in a wierd spot at the bottom of the triangle, and without wind, shooting further you’re just lining it up between the two posts (or worse if you have wind) - not my favorite configuration outright.
It can be too bright at times, but the rotating fiber-shade thing helps with this a ton. If you’re already familiar with an optic like the TA31F, then shooting it up close is a breeze, if not the learning curve isn’t bad at all. Getting a cattail is almost a must in my book - it works so well at 1x, when close, but that big easy to see triangle covers small targets beyond 200m until you crank it to 4x.

The MR/T is almost a pure precision optic type thing. I’m not really a fan of Leupold’s illumination setup, but the TMR reticle with some decent magnification makes it a great unit for the price. I’d still look elsewhere in most cases.

Have you looked at the SWFA 1-4HD? I had a TR24G and the triangle was great but I sold it because I wanted more of a precision reticle and the SS 1-4HD below looks like the best of both worlds.

nice reviews. do you now own the swfa?

anyone have any experience with the burris xtr 14? i like the fact that it has bullet compensation when fully magnified at 4x

I have not looked at a 1-4, but recently discovered the 1.5-6 XTR is not my cup of tea. The black BDC dots are very hard to pick up on steel plates - especially if painted black. The BDC calibration on this one (a .308 version) was not very close on what we were using either; a 16" SCAR-17 with Aussie, SA and German 7.62 surplus.
