Trijicon MS04 on an AK?

Looking for an optic for my new SGL21.

I’ll be adding an Ultimak tube, and while I would love to put an H-1 or T-1 on it, I have a hard time justifying a $500+ optic on a $500 rifle.

My AR’s are my go to rifles and both wear Aimpoints. I’ve always found the AK intriguing and couldn’t pass up the KVAR sale for a chance to pick one up for familiarization, fun, experimentation, etc.

I found a used Trijicon MS04 for a good price, and wondered if it would be suitable for use on the AK? Is there a mount that will allow for co-witness? Issues with heat? Are there issues with dot brightness or the optic holding zero like some other optics of this type have?

I’ve also considered a Bushnell TRS-25 or Burris Fastfire, but don’t want to put crap on the gun just cause it’s an AK.

Opinions on the MS04, it’s use on an AK, or other suggestions on optic setups I should consider are welcome and appreciated.

You might want to fire off a PM to Katar, he used a Pride Fowler dot on his SLR-106FR at the first Vickers AK class, and swapped it out for an Aimpoint ML-3 the first day.

Give your Arsenal a chance, it might change your view on it being “just an AK”… :cool:
