Guys, first post here, just found this site and it’s been very informative so thanks for that.
Now, a question. I just installed a drop-in trigger group from Bill Springfield into my Bushmaster. Checking things out, the hammer rotation from disconnector catch to hammer notch seems abnormally long. When the trigger is released as the hammer is held by the disconnector, it really ‘whaps’ as it drops to the hammer notch and it bothers me a little bit to have the hammer slapping the into the hammer notch so hard.
I measured the height from the top of the hammer to the top edge of the lower receiver, and when moving from the disconnect catch to full cock, the hammer raises over a quarter inch (actually .255"). Should I be concerned about this? I did not measure the factory parts before the swap but it surely didn’t seem to be so abrupt when releasing the trigger. I am using the factory hammer spring incidentally rather than the ‘yellow’ spring provided by Bill. Didn’t want to compromise ignition to lighten the trigger by a few more ounces.
Thanks!
