Trade my HK USP45 for a Sig Sauer P220R Elite Dark?

Hi guys, I been thinking about selling my almost new HK USP45 with Insight M2 UTL to get a Sig Sauer P220R Elite Dark. I have no problems with USP45 at all, I trust my life with and it never give me any problems. but I just realized that my USP45 just hangs on my wall and collects dust. I only use it when I go out in the woods to shoot it. Im a pretty good size guy and I can usually concealed carry a full size handgun but the USP45 is just really too bulky and big to Concealed Carry. I was thinking of replacing it with a Sig P220R Elite Dark, because I currently own a P226R 9mm Enhanced Elite and I have been carrying it along with my SA Loaded 1911. I know the P220s are 8-rounder mags compare to USPs 12-round mags, but I’m not really too worried about mag capacity.

So what do you guys think? should I do it? would it be a little bit more practical to do that? Is the Sig P220s are just as reliable and dependable as their 9mm pistols? I personally only have an experience on 9mm Sig pistols and thats it.

Let me know guy, It will help me decide…

Thanks in advanced…

AJM

Hell no

+1…to infinity…

What he said.

HELL no. I had the same reaction when I read the first sentence…

I guess on the other hand if you dont shoot it then why not trade for something you will use, assuming that you will shoot the Sig?

I’d trade it.

…for a HK45C.

what he said!

I would look at an HK45C as a replacement for the full size USP45 long before looking at a SIG 220R Elite. The HK45C is a slick little gun.

The HK45C is about the same size as a G19, and it is a lot more concealable than that big bruiser USP… or the SIG for that matter. :dirol:

Lol, you have your answer… No.

LOL… what’s wrong with the Sig P220 Elite? my past and current Sigs are been 100% reliable and very accurate…

As an HK and a SIG owner I can tell you that you will be so dissapointed if you make the trade; don’t do it!

This.

Have you ever owned a P220? I’ve owned several of each of the classic series, and I work on many others for the DOI. The P220 is the most finicky of the bunch. The cartridges sit low in the chamber making for unreliable feeding of you don’t keep up on extractor, recoil spring, and magazine spring replacement. Combine that with modern day Sig Sauer’s “questionable” quality controls and you’re asking for problems. The best years for the P220 were in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but like a 1911 they take some TLC to keep running well.

H&K .45acps on the other hand are probably the most reliable .45s in existance, and they require minimal maintenance.

What he said, and Greg Bell, and the other guys.

looks like everyone else beat me to it and the conclusions appear unanimous.

Damn… I didn’t know Sig P220s are that bad… ok you guys win

maybe a Never Fired In The Box SIG P220 (Non Rail) German Made Pistol…
My New Sig Experience is very very bad, within 50 rounds my new 2010 P226 extractor broke and made gun a paper weight and the black anodizing was breaking off.

These are smaller but, you can get 10 rd mags for range ? use too, as well as the standard 8 rnd mags. I have the USPC, and it fits my hands very well. I will NOT part with it.

The H&K has great QC. The SIG, not so much.

Upgrade to the HK45 or HK45c. I like the full-size better, after having both.
