Hope you all like-it has taken me a long time to get these:D
But I have one of the best AR’s
That Colt was made in 1997 and has been through about 6 optics, two stocks, a trigger job, and about 7,000 rounds and it shoots better today than it did when new.
I have so many 5.56 weapons I just don’t need another AR.
BUT yes I agree I need some sort of HK91, I was thinking of one of those PTR “GI” models with green stock from CDNN for $800.
I was thinking more along the lines of you needing a lightweight 6520 and a full size A1 or A2 rifle as well. I’m also impressed you resisted the urge to get into 7.62 AKs. You have much more will power than I do.
Last time I had “some” of the kids out for a picture it looked like this.
I had a MAK-90, Arsenal USA Polish 47, and my pop has a Arsenal SGL 21 currently. The newer 7.62 Arsenal is an accurate gun, the 5.45’s I have are superbly accurate so I am covered on AK’s.
Steyr Aug you have an awesome collection-may I ask how long it took you to acquire all those rifles?
What do you do for a living? Just curious as I need to know how many more years of begging the old lady I have in front of me
That picture is maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of my entire collection. Probably less than that as there are no handguns. It is only the contents of 3 safes that I moved.
I started collecting in the 4th grade. I probably make less money than half of the members here and spent several years being seriously broke with crappy jobs. Firearms are just a priority.
I respect that. I know EXACTLY how it goes. I make sure my girl dont go without food lol. My job is inconsistent, ill make 700 in two days one week and $30 the next. My collection is a priority and my girlfriend is okay with that
The big one I did, for many, many years rather than having a car loan to pay I drove a bucket. It’s amazing to me what people will spend on cars, especially when you consider what the car is worth (or in most cases not worth) by the time you are done paying it off.
I knew a lot of people who were paying $200-400 a month for their car while that is what I spent in total on the one I was driving, and then I’d drive it for 8 years until it died. I also didn’t buy a house that amounted to 10 times my annual income like some people have done.
While others spend their money on clothes, jewelry, boats and other things that hold zero interest for me I bought guns. It is always funny to me to hear people who make 5 or 10 times what I make in a year talk about how they could never afford a collection like mine.
Im with you on this. It truly is an investment. I get shit for it everyday from the owner where I work. I dont force it on anyone and I dont talk about it to anyone. They will never understand and I wont explain it. My girl drives a Yukon, she likes new and shiny, I prefer stuff thats paid off, like my 92 S-10 lol. I take care of it like I do all my stuff and its fine.
