title says it all
Is it a fighting AK or range toy?
it will be a range toy/carbine courses…but should the situation present itself it will be my battle rifle.
If you want it as a serious use carbine, and can afford the investment in an Aimpoint Micro, then yes, definitely.
If you’re serious about you AK as a defensive weapon I don’t know why you wouldn’t put a T-1 on that bad boy.
The T1 gives you a considerable speed advantage over iron sights. There is no sight alignment to be made, you just place the dot on what you want to shoot. It also gives you a HUGE improvement on your field of view on an AK as you keep both eyes open(the T1 housing just kinda disappears when you look ahead), and it is effective in any lighting conditions.
Yes.

It is the best solution currently available on the market.
Just put an H1 on my Krink. Will snap a pic when I go home for lunch. Muuuuuuch faster with the H1. I used a StormWerkz Bulgy Krink rail on top of the rear sight.
Indeedy. My issue M92 came with an aft-mounted rail, and my H1 rocks that bitch. I was kind of wondering about running it that far to the rear, but it works just fine. I can even get a lower sight co-witness off the existing irons.

There is only one reason my AK does not have one on it…the T-1 piggy back is not full yet. Soon.
The perfect match for the Krink.

No, I wouldn’t get a T1.
I’d get an H1. ![]()
I agree with everyone but mostly with rob_s.
The irons on an AK just do not work for me. I have been mulling over an optic for mine, but it’s mainly a range toy so I don’t want to invest a lot in optics. It’s also not a quality AK (WASR-10) so I’d probably never trust it as a battle rifle when I have a quality AR-15 nearby.
If I intended to use mine as a battle rifle, I’d absolutely buy an Aimpoint H-1 for it. Don’t worry about someone who will decry your decision to plop a $600 optic on an AK–haters gonna hate, you just keep ballin’.
Hmm… my post didn’t… um… post. Lets try that again.
I took some pics at lunch, and yes, that big fugly barrel extension is coming off as soon as I get the stamp back. Barrel is already 8.3" and gas port tuned so one little blind pin and bing bang boom KRINKtastic!!!
Also, just ordered some better front wood for it. These are really really red.

Since I will be putting it on an Ultimak rail… i heard i should get the T1 because it can handle higher temps better than the H1
The website says the H1 can handle up to 140 degrees and the T1 can handle up to 160 degrees.
Please Advise.
I have a T1, but I haven’t heard of anyone killing a H-1.
T1/H1 on the Ulitmak is a great way to go - greatly improved sighting and only about 4 ounces more weight.
I have a CompC3 so I decided to use that - it’s working out very well and I will probably leave it on.

Every gun (except mine) at the AK class a couple months ago had a T1 or H1 on it.

Actually one gentleman had a Vortex Micro (Sparc?) on his it held up for the weekend as well.
Ultimak + AP micro = currently the best setup available.
Faster target acquisition, especially off of the support shoulder (the shot clock doesn’t lie). Co-witnesses with irons. What’s not to like?
