I am heavily debating getting rid of my LE6920 because of the sellers market. I have a second AR (BCM) but really like the idea of having a back up or one someone else can use if need be. However I really want to get a bolt action .308. I know I can sell it for 2,000 clams easy, probably more. Half of me is saying dump it but the other half is saying bolt action guns aren’t going anywhere. Am I a complete idiot for even considering selling it right now? Help me make up my mind!
I sold some, to fund other things. That’s your decision.
Your decision, again. Personally, I’d keep. Bolt actions are not going anywhere anytime soon.
That being said, I already have a .308 bolt gun, so my opinion is obscured.
You’re right, the bolt guns are pretty safe and .308 is probably impossible to find right now as well. I have flip flopped on this so much in the past week. I even had it on armslist and took it down right after. I think it will sleep in the safe another night.
I sold my most recent AR build but I have six others and will not part with any more. If it were me and only had the two, I would certainly keep them both.
I’d keep it. With the way things are going, bolt actions will still be around ban/ no ban.
I’d keep it. You can always save more money. You might not be able to score another Colt for quite a while.
Keep it and save for the bolt gun.
I’ve got 2.9 ARs and i would not dream of selling any of them even though I could sure as hell use the money.
You only have two? Keep. If you had three maybe, but you’ll kick yourself forever if you sell 1 of 2.
Yeah the more people I ask and the more I think about it I know I need to just keep it. Plus who knows what will happen tomorrow at the press conference.
If it were me I would see if there is anything available that you like first. I tried to go shopping today for my first bolt gun (.308) but there were absolutely no long guns to even look at, the place was bare except for some used pistols. I was going to ask the guys working but they were pretty busy. Guess my first bolt will have to wait.
It’s up to you, but you could always pick up spare parts that are likely to fail.
Also keep in mind. … Sell to early and you might be kicking yourself if the price rises to 3k or 4k.
That’s crazy jack and my backup AR would out the door at that price.
And I’d have to disagree about bolt guns, ppl are spending their extra money on the AR they always planned to buy. Meanwhile, like new GAP’s and Surgeons are selling for pretty good prices.
- 1 on the above.
If what is being reported on this morning’s news happens and is not overturned, that might be the last Colt (or any AR, for that matter), that you can find for what you have in it.

I sold my M&P15 to a coworker so I could fund…another Colt. IMO, I would keep it, you just never know what is coming down the pipe. An AR could be worth the moon in the next couple of months.
Hmm, tough choice. Two grand can buy you a nice bolt gun. I know this much, if I had a BCM and a Colt, I would definately be in the same boat and may just put it up for sale.
I sold a very nice Stag build and an MP15 only because I had an opportunity to buy 2 LE6920’s for zero out of pocket. I decided to let my Son buy one of the 6920’s before anything stupid happens, but it leaves me with only 2 now. I’m a little antsy not having the 3rd, as I’ve always had one set up as a patrol carbine, one as a rifle and the pistol, but it was worth it to insure my Son gets one while he still can. Got a few lowers on the way, so I can always go that route if I need, but I’d REALLY like to get a rifle back in the safe.
I’d say don’t do it unless you’re scoring something better that may be banned or limited in the future. The rest will all be available down the road…
Anyone know where I can score a CR6720? ![]()
It’s sticking around for a while it seems. Slept on it and while I still have the itch for a bolt gun, I would rather hang onto a gun I have mags, ammo and accessories for, than buy a new gun that I have to sight in and run through the paces. At least I know the Colt works and can hit where the sights are.
Smart move. May the force be with you.
It became obvious today there will be no gun or mag ban… Dump it high and repurchase one again several months from now low. That’s my 2 cents.
