TIME TO FIGHT BACK

A lot of people say there is no need to worry about a bill that hasn’t even been introduced yet. Well I think that is wrong. We know what the content of the bill is as it can be seen on DiFi’s website. I have posted a sample letter below that I got from Military Arms Channel. Either use that letter or write your own but letters need to be sent. I have also posted a website below that will send the letter to every congressman and rep in your area as well as the President. Please act now before we have no time to act.

Greetings,

Due to the recent events at Sandy Hook elementary school we now face renewed threats to our Constitutional rights. While I understand how painful the loss must be for those touched by this tragedy, blaming firearms or their owners and punishing them is not the answer to the challenges we face as a nation.

We already have laws that were violated by a man who was likely psychotic and heavily medicated. This man was stopped by the mandatory background check from purchasing firearms. He then decided to murder his mother and take her legally owned firearms to commit this tragedy.

If your true goal is to protect our children, then enact legislation that will do that. Banning firearms that are rarely used in crime (less than 1% of the time) is not going to stop such tragedies, that was proven in 1999 when the Columbine shooting took place under the 1994 ban. Do something meaningful, please. Make committing the insane easier. Put armed security guards in our schools. But do not strip us of our rights and property by passing additional anti-gun laws that have historically had no positive effect on crime in our nation or others.

Use this link to send the letters.

Spot on! Great food for thought and thanks for the link. It is far past the time(but not too late) for "us"to stop playing defence and start going on the offensive. The old adage in regards to the sheep the wolf and the sheep dog needs to be driven home at every opportunity we get. No law will ever stop the insane or evil ones from committing mayhem.

I’ve already sent letters to my guys in the Senate and House.

It kills me. They don’t need more gun control. What we truly need is a national data base for the mentally ill.

Its too easy for a very deranged person to lie on the form (i.e. check the “I’ve never been hospitalized for mental illness” block) and we have nothing in place in my state of residence to check it against. In my line of work, I’ve encountered numerous cases where institutionalized persons lied on the form and purchased firearms.

If you propose this, the liberals will go into a fit that we would infringe upon the rights of the mentally ill.

They don’t give a damn about infringing on the rights of millions of gun owners in this country.
