Out of this tragedy a group was formed that made a promise to honor the lives lost and turn it into a moment of transformation. Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence. I want to be a part of that promise – as a father and as a friend.
And he hunts so he’s a hypocrite as well.

I’m as disgusted as anyone when I see new gun control measures being proposed - especially when done using the children as a reason.
But I went to the Sandy Hook Promise web page and I don’t see them pushing for gun control. Maybe they are smart enough to mask it… but this is what they have:

I’m not seeing the kind of rabid anti-gun garbage we see from Brady, the Douche Bloomberg, etc. They even discuss the mental health issues which are the real problem in my book.
If that’s actually the mission they stick to, then it doesn’t sound terrible. If they are trying to restrict liberties further (does CT have any liberties left?) then f 'em.
How about more school resource officers? My school got one after Columbine.

I would hazard a guess that irrespective of a specific show biz type such as acting, singing, etc. the vast majority of show biz fold are liberal = anti gun.
There are a few exceptions, but that’s what they are: Exceptions!
I surmise most of the organization members do not support the second amendment, and at a minimum want UBCs. Regardless of their “offical” stance according to their web site, the fact that a popular Southern country musician, whose fans are symbolic of right-leaning, gun lovin’ people, decides to associate with anything “Sandy hook” and “anti-gun violence” is a win for the anti-gun groups.
