Threadlock on an AK Ultimak rail

What, if any, threadlock is optimal or adequate for use on an H-1 mounted on an Ultimak AK gas tube rail? I remember hearing, somewhere, reports or concerns of blue loctite melting when heated. I don’t know if this is an issue or not in real life. I also don’t know much about loctite or threadlocker in general, so any thoughts will help.

I do want to be able to remove the optic without too much trouble, so i assume red-loctite won’t meet my needs. Thanks in advance.

I would stick with blue.

Yup, blue. I don’t think Jay or I, or anyone who’s used that set up, have seen any issues.

I actually go the opposite route. I use anti seize on mine. The Ultimak’s get so hot that I don’t see threadlocker providing much protection. I HAVE seen screws rust/corrode into place that had to be cut for a flathead and soaked in Kroil to remove. Anti seize and easily visible witness marks for me. Nary an issue in tens of thousands of rounds downrange.

That said, I use red loctite for other gun parts. It isn’t as ‘permanent’ as many people say it is.

Edit- I misread, I thought you meant the Ultimak screws. For the actual Aimpoint screw, I use red.

Not a bad idea. The screw heads on an Ultimak mount are good candidates for safety wire, too.
