Thoughts on Bushnell 1-8.5 Tactical elite?

Just wondering if anyone has seen these up close to see the quality of construction. The retail is $3200 and the street price is $2100. So is this truly a $2100 optic from Bushnell?

I am also looking for info.
The spec sheet shows the 1-8.5x24 as having exceptional field of view for its class at 1x of 105ft@100yds. This is the same as listed for the 1-6.5x24.

I like the reticles offered for the series and the option for FFP or SFP. After reading this (https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=115782) review of the 1-6.5 FFP, I would think that if using it at true 1x then SFP is the way to go since with FFP the reticle is really small and not bright enough for daylight when on 1x. But with the added magnification of the 8x version the ballistic markings of the reticle at less than 8x are off and an 8x dialed SFP would be an obstacle at 6x (the DualFocalPlan US Optics SN-8 seems like the best solution for true low power variable usability). So far I have only found the 1-8.5 in FFP.
I am also curious about the turret function, they are capped on the 1-6.5, I haven’t found anything describing the locking system on the 1-8.5.

The optics dealer I spoke too about these says that the reticle is WAY brighter than the 1-6.5. I assumed that the turrets were pull-up to turn and push-down to lock, like the larger brother H/G2DMR.

I, too, am looking for more reviews…

I don’t see the utility of a floating dot type reticle in an 8x scope. I’d rather it have some type of crosshairs in the center.

Other than the reticle, the specs look pretty good. Price is high, but its new to the market.

I looked through a lot of different 1-6/8x scopes at the NRA show in the quest for one that fits my needs. I used the same section of white wall washed by incoming sunlight to compare dot intensity. The glass in the Bushnell was really nice but the dot brightness was not up to the same level as the Leupold Mark 6 (but better than the VX6) and not close to the Vortex Razor 1-6x scopes.

I’d be taking a serious look at it if it was SFP with a BTR-1 reticle.
