I’m seeing some new Arsenal/Saiga AK’s for sale. Anyone have any advice one these?
Are those the ones that don’t use standard AK mags? For this type of weapon to not use standard “proven and plentiful” AK mags would be a deal breaker.
The one I’ve seen is pretty friggin’ nice. I don’t know how well they shoot but I’m sure it’s very well.
Is this what you are talking about?

Here you go. They factory target shows impressive performance for an AK. Several can be found on gunbroker.
They are very nice!
They are made by Legion in Russia and are well made. The hardest part of the decision is what MB to put on it. They do accept regular mags.

I guess they were too cheap to include the proper muzzle device. Imagine that. I’m sure that they will offer it for a “special price”
Of course I am assuming they have chrome lined barrels. Can anyone confirm this?
I may try to get one very soon.
I wish they were marked Izhmash.
I’de never be able to get over the GOOFY trigger housing placement.

I agree pretty weak… Great rifle otherwise.
Yes they are.
Its a not too hard conversion to move it to its correct spot.
I know the logo is there but I wish it said:
“Made is Russia by Izhmash” like on a neutered Saiga.
So what is the complaint on the trigger guard?
Some of the latest ones are coming with the AK74 style brake. I was planning on ordering that type of brake anyway. May try to put a BFG sling on it as well.
The one we have on the wall has a AK-74 brake, US made furniture and is really nice. The piston on the bolt is kinda odd. No notches…none the less it’s a nicely built AK.
That’s what modern Russian-made pistons look like on “century series” Kalashnikovs.
Thanks, I had no idea. Good to know I was thinking it was a crap U.S. compliant part.
