This little old lady isn't a drug dealer, she's a buckeye fan!

You can’t make this shit up, really!

As soon as I saw the title of the article I thought, “well, this obviously didn’t happen here in Ohio…”

I was right. TN.

Rant on:

This is one of many reasons why I don’t plaster my POVs with any kind of stickers. If you have Noveske, Magpul, NRA, etc. all over your car you are advertising to everyone that you a.) are a gun owner and b.) probably have one in your vehicle. I also don’t get people putting political stickers on their cars, doesn’t matter what side you’re on someone wants to key your ride.

Lastly what is up with all the soccer moms advertising to all the child predators in the world not only how many children they have but what their freaking names are.?! The stick figure family stickers that show exactly how many members in the household there are to include the damn pets. Then you have the stickers from the kid’s athletic teams that promptly display their names for all to see.

Some people are just born victims.

Rant off:

Since when is it ok to pull someone over because of a sticker on their car? WTF?

Uh oh, thread lock in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .

Exactly. How in the hell does a sticker = probable cause

Been happening since as far back as I can remember, usually it was Grateful Dead stickers and similar bands that were used as PC to search for drugs.

I think I need to put an MJ sticker on my bumper and go for a ride thru Memphis with my Attorney-friend. Could be lucrative.

I doubt they were doing it legally. If they failed to find drugs and tried that on the right party, it could get downright expensive.

I can put an Imperial Logo bumper sticker on my car but that does not make me Darth Vader.

If you have Noveske, Magpul, NRA, etc.

Outside of a subset of gun enthusiasts, nobody would have a clue what the first two were.

I took a close look at the photo of the pot leaf. Shit, I been smoking something different.

Probable cause is not the standard for the traffic stop, it is the standard for search and arrest. Although I personally have questions about this particular event I have in the past found that stickers like, “It is always 4:20 in here”, the bust of Jesus Malverde, or Santa Muerte memorabilia visible in/or on the vehicle, when combined with other indicators have helped establish reasonable suspicion that the driver was transporting narcotics or proceeds.

Now some will say that the fact that these were geriatrics alone should have lifted any and all suspicion that they were trafficking narcotics. To that I have to say hogwash, in my own personal experience I have arrested grandmothers knowingly trafficking multi-dozen kilo loads of cocaine in interstate commerce and have knowledge of other geriatrics/retirees involved in drug smuggling. And no, it wasn’t to supplement a meager retirement to avoid eating cat food, it is all about maintaining a very high standard of living and the thrill of the act.
