Some Know/I Doubt Everyone Knows about this, even though it’s what, 2 yrs. old or more now, “PDW”?
Old News for some I’m know but does everyone know, I doubt it:
Shouldn’t We somehow STOP the Assault Rifle name?
The AR designation, for this Rifle designed/made by Stoner while working at Armalite = AR name (as You all know, I know) but for the Government
to step and say AR means “Assault Rifle” and for this Name to stand all these years IMHO SUX… Yes/No… What do you all think?
Homeland Security, get same weapon and it is PDW-15… How crazy is that, for you and I, they’re ARs and for them, they’re PDWs???
This just struck a cord in me this morning, seeing\Reading aking the “AR poll”

I don’t care if AR’s come with a piece of chalk to mark each of your kills, the fact remains that I’m a free man living in a country that Constitutionally-guarantees it’s citizenry’s right to defend itself from a tyrannical government, and the nomenclature means nothing.
Seriously. This “Modern Sporting Rifle” bullshit fad is the most fearful backwards thing I’ve ever seen.
A display of FBI stats on weapons used in homicides will go a lot further than hiding the truth just to keep AR’s under the radar. It’s time to keep them very much on the radar, and let people know that you’re not bending over and letting new legislation happen. We’re past playing the name game.

No one is taking my M4s and or PDW-15s from me and I am NOT implying that the government take them either… I’m saying it SUX they (government) can label
these rifles WRONG and We have this Assault Rifle Label still, all these years later really sucks! To Me, It’s just an Awesome, Beautiful Semi Auto rifle…
Mean while, the SAME Semi Auto Rifle, the “Assualt Rifle”:rolleyes: DHS and or Homeland Security labels their’s PDW-15…?
Don’t you get it… they have immediately relabel them a “PDW-15”, for 2 or 3 guys so bent here, the PDW-15 for DHS/Homeland Security means this>> “Personal Defense Weapon-15”
I would think this is a much better name for us… compared to Assualt Rifle…

nor does there have to be. while some of us don’t make much of a name or label, there are those that do. if it doesn’t hurt us to change the name to a more neutral one that can help our cause, why not?
it’s obvious that the uninformed public bases their perceptions on labels, rather than facts, so i don’t see changing labels as rolling over. to one who doesn’t know the difference, ‘assault rifle’ is going to conjure up a more negative image than a ‘modern sporting rifle’. even the label ‘semi auto’ can confuse some who think it means ‘full auto’.
i don’t give a shit what they call my rifle, as long as i can keep it. if you don’t want your ‘assault rifle’ labeled as a ‘sporting rifle’, then so be it. i’m more concerned with keeping my rifle than its label.
Well, technically, an assault rifle has automatic fire capability, so most of ours fails to meet the mark.
However, dont misunderstand, its not for sporting purposes. Its for defense of me and mine, ie, taking people out, the bad people, at least.
If thats a problem, oh, well.
The pdw is usually less than an intermediate rifle caliber, and i got that covered as well, for taking out bad people at close range only.
