OK. So I’m talking to this female friend of mine at work about guns, investments, and so on. She doesn’t own any guns, but has talked about buying some, both to shoot, and for investment purposes.
In the course of this discussion, I mention that with the political situation being what it is, I’d put some serious money into black rifles and a .50 or two if I had the extra cash laying around to do it.
She’s an interesting character, to say the least.
This afternoon about 3, she comes to my office and says, “You want to go to your friend’s shop and buy some guns?”
Does a bear shit in the woods?
So, we ditch and go jump in her car and head to the fun shop. We arrive about 10 minutes before he closed, and she starts asking questions. After about 15 minutes, she says “OK, QS, whatever you think will appreciate considerably in 15-20 years or so.”
“Whatever?”
“Yup. Whatever.”
Well no shit. “Well, if I had the cash, I’d definitely get a .50, and that one <pointing to the new Barrett M82a1CQ> will certainly be a good place to start.”
“Okay, whatever you think.”
When I finally began to slow down and feel a little guilty, the pile on the counter had grown to:
6 stripped RRA lowers
3 Bushmaster flattop M4s
1 FN FS2000
1 FN PS90
1 Barrett M82A1CQ
100 NIW AR magazines
10 PS90 magazines
100 rounds LC APIT .50
500 rounds SS192 5.7mm
1000 rounds LC M885
3 Glock 19s
30 Glock magazines
Grand total: $18,597.00 plus Uncle Sam.
My friend grinned and whipped out her pocketbook.
No shit.
