thinking of trading my LE6920 for a DD V5

Needs-based analysis is a marvelous thing.

its a m4 socom. not straight up trading but selling it to raise money for another type of ar. i dont shoot the colt that much anymore and i want something else like a daniel defense and the v5 seemed to interest me lately.

With the market saturated in used and low cost new AR’s, getting a good return on your Colt may be difficult. Would it be worth it to just buy the DD V5 upper or a similar BCM upper and keep the Colt lower? If you don’t shoot the Colt much now, what makes you think you will shoot the DD that much more to justify the cost?

Like others said, its your decision to make.

Both are great rifles. If you feel you are tired of the Colt and want something different, then get the DD. Just be aware you will most likely take a loss selling the Colt.

I’d only shitcan a gun if there’s a significant gain achieved in the gun I’m dumping it for. I traded in all my mid tier stuff for what I perceive as a pinnacle of AR perfection, which is the KAC. That said, I don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze to go from a quality Colt to an equally quality DD.

Send pm about your 6920, what’s on it, how many rounds through it, and most importantly what you want for it. Was it built after 2009 (no sear block & small pins) I may be able to help you with your decision and add another 6920 to my collection…

Seems you have already made your decision. Just do it!

Have you considered another platform altogether? If not, perhaps you might want to try a different caliber? Maybe just add another upper?
