Im thinking about selling my BCM 11.5" upper and down sizing to a LMT 10.5" upper. Reason being I just like it being short, its only a inch but any thoguhts? The BCM runs great and the 10.5 will also be on a select fire lower. Any running issues with the 10.5"? ![]()
my 10.5 is my favorite gun… i shoot it better than anything else i own, or have owned in recent memory. love that gun.
i would not trade an 11 for a 10, though… its only an inch, and 11s are, apparently, on average, more reliable than 10s. if you’ve really got an itch, why not just save up a bit and buy a 10.5 upper in addition to the 11?
I have two duty SBR’s a BCM CHF 11.5" and a Noveske N4 10.5". If you handed me one and didn’t tell me which it was, I couldn’t tell. Save your money.
Save your money, unless you want a Mk. 18.
This. Keep and save.
It is only 1", I dont really want two uppers with only one inch between them. Even 1" really helps in vehicle movement…
There’s a reason Bravo doesn’t make a 10.5. Keep your 11.5.
Honestly 1" may make a difference when banging a porn star, but I really don’t think it matters when it comes to barrel length. I was easily able to move in an out of vehicles with a 14.5" and when you compare a 10.5" and an 11.5" next to each other the difference is really negligible.
The important thing (IMO) is reliability, slightly better ballistics and muzzle velocity. I think the 1" trade off is worth it.
Thats more or less what I was thinking. I still want a 10.5 upper at some point but this little rifle runs so good with this set up. If it aint broke, dont fix it…![]()
if your going to put it on a select fire lower I would go with a piston upper, but if your aren’t having any problems with what you have than why change it out? Save the money, i would.
This for the win.
Well I sold my BCM 11.5 upper on the EE here a few days ago. Gonna try the 10.5 upper and see how it goes. When things bug me, I need to try them and find out for myself…![]()
Why?
I put together a DD 11.5 a couple weeks ago, I’ve put almost 1500 rounds through it since then on one of our shop’s FA lowers, mostly on full auto. Not a single hiccup, no cleaning, just lube.
I prefer 10.5" over the 11".
LMT is my brand of choice.
Oh my fucking God. :sarcastic::sarcastic::sarcastic:
I have a 10.5" LMt and it has been awesome. However, if I were to do it all over again, I’d go with the 11.5". The 1" doesn’t meaningfully cut down on manuverability, and it adds some much needed velocity.
If this ends up working out better for you, then you’ll have done great - your money, and I applaud your wilingness to give this a shot.
Theres only one way to find out. Try it! ![]()
I say you should just stick with the 11.5, but hey I’m lazy and I wouldn’t go through the trouble to sell my stuff to just get an inch less on my barrel.
waste of money IMO, little to no difference between the two.
