I ordered an Accupoint TR24 as my first optic. I’m excited and can’t wait to get it mounted and try it out! I ordered it with a mount combo from LaRue, but they’re out of the TR24s and don’t know when they’ll get more. It’s been two weeks since I placed my order.
I’m sure Trijicon is concerned with re-tooling and “fixing” their military orders as that’s their bread and butter. I DON’T want to start a thread complaining about their decision being right/wrong - stupid/smart. I’m just curious if y’all think I’m in for a two or three month (or more) wait. Like I say, it’s my first optic and I’m going crazy waiting for it!
Not exactly sure how Trijicon runs their operations but many companies make things in batches for efficiency. When they get enough orders for a product they put that in the queue to be produced.
And Im sure they are quite busy with the Bible thing…
Most sites are selling the tr24 for about 765.00. I’m buying it from LaRue for 875.00 (195.00 mount) so I’m paying about 680.00 with the combo. I’m not in so much of a hurry that I want to pay top dollar.
It’s probably blasphemy around here, but I went with the green, german reticle. I’m a civilian and don’t shoot three gun or any courses, so I’m more concerned with precision first, speed second. I really like the post reticle, but think the #4 will be more precise at longer ranges.
Probably not what you want to hear but I would just forget about it until it gets there. I ordered my T-1 and Mount for Larue and it was out of stock at the time and I was told they didnt know when they would get more in so I just waited. It came about 2 weeks later and was worth the wait.
If you ever look directly at the Trijicon website, it’s not uncommon to see 8-20 week lead times for their Accupoint and ACOG lines, depending on model.
I have not physically looked at the german reticle. I’ve seen pics on google and different threads around the net. I know the illumination sucks and is almost non-existent. Like I said, I like the post reticle, but don’t like it for precision work. Seems like it would be tough to use a “hold over” at 350 yards with the post. The illuminated triangle is several MOA larger than the german dot too. Perhaps you can enlighten me though. I’m open to suggestions.
