If I have to register my ARs as NFA items, could I just turn around and order SBR uppers for them and not worry about all the other typical SBR paperwork?

I don’t expect it to get written, either. I was just curious, seeing as I’ve never dealt with NFA before. I would have loved to have an SBR and supressor by now, but seeing as the Air Force movies me every couple years, and not always to states that welcome NFA items, I haven’t bought anything.
Making all semi auto rifles NFA would never fly…
And if some how it did? I’d ignore it anyway… that’d be the straw for me, jack.
