Got two in today! Overall I think they are a good optic and I really like how they integrated the AA battery into the body (extremely rugged). The mount is less than desirable, but Bobro will offer a mount for it (as will other companies I bet).

How does it look at 1x?
I really wanted the VCOG but with a BDC reticle, and the same weight, I cannot see it being that big of an upgrade compared to my Vortex.
Good I think. Glass is clear.

Thanks. I was wondering since the MK6 reticle was said to be hard to see for some due to being a FFP.
It is small, but the large circle around it would make up for that I think.

I thought the mount for the VCOG was the same as what Trijicon is using for ACOGs and was under the impression that mounts that would work for the ACOG would drop right in for the VCOG. Could be wrong, been a while since I even read anything on the VCOG and thought that was the case.
Grant will you be testing this optic? Right now I am in the market for a 1-6 would really like to here how the VCOG compares to the MK6. I like how it takes a AA but not sure if I like the reticle and definitely do not like the mount. is there a ETA when bobro will have a mount availible for the VCOG?
At it’s price point it makes the Mk6 look like a steal. I guess if it proves itself over time to be nuclear bomb proof it may be worth it.
I have ran this optic for a good period of time, its bright its clear its rugged, its daytime brightness is great,
I tried one in an larue acog mount i cracked the mount! the base is slightly wider on the vcog than the acog
Maybe in the future. Call or e-mail Bobro. They probably have these mounts now.

You are looking at the full MAP price. We offer member discounts on all Trijicon products.

Seems legit, but someone has to bring it up:
1.42 lbs plus $2,380 and a big ass AA battery?? Thumb screw mount? 1st FFP? I know you said there is a large circle on the reticle so 1st FFP in 1x isn’t bad, but why is it FFP to begin with?
I’m not trying to be a naysayer, and I love Trijicon’s products. But this just doesn’t seem to have anything special going for it. No tritium, heavy, expensive, terrible mount…
Is there something about this optic that sets it apart from the US Optics SR8c, or any of the Nightforce 1-4, 2.5-10 optics? Is there anything about this optic that sets it apart from anything? If a Trijicon rep were in here right now, what would they give as a reason for me to buy this?
That is my thought.
I think the Vortex has it beat.
If the Leupold MK6 did not have that weird illumination ‘problem’ it would have them all beat, especially if it was SFP.
I have the vortex JM and the z61 both are awesome i also have the vcog
the vortex with larue mount is almost 33oz and cones in at about 1700 bucks total
the illumination on the vcog is brighter… its great scope…
my return to zero has been positive with the thumb screw mounts so far then again once its mounted i don’t remove them call me weird…
the vcog and mount comes in at about 27ozs
the vortex has a slight edge in gov at the top end of the 6x spectrum
I find them all to be great scopes i really like the segmented circle up close
I don’t know why people are hung up over the weight, considering this scope mounts to ACOG mounts. I’m glad some people above pointed out how much some competitors weigh.
Mr Fisher, how did your Larue ACOG mount crack and on what type of rifle? .308?
Could anyone post some reticule pics on 1x? How is the eyebox?
Thanks
The VCOG was listed as 23oz with no mount. That’s only two ounces lighter than the vortex. I think a QD Mount will make it almost as heavy as the Vortex, which for me comes in around 32oz.
I think the VCOG will not be beat in durability though.
Do you find the VCOG, with its BDC reticles, to be sub-optimal on a precision rifle?
it will really depend on the mount used so many options… i have used it with a few different mounts the factory mount is very useable for most users ill get an exact weight of mine in the AM
the larue mount cracked because of the higher sides and how i mounted it if i recall correct its been a year since that happened
Ill try to get some for you, it was on a 556 gun again it was do to how it was mounted i was trying different hole positions and i allowed the battery box to to make contact and it cracked it as tightened the screws
I haven’t stretched it past 300 yards yet.
