I would agree.
However, now that the tables are turned I find myself feeling the same way about this country’s next President.
Yes, I know I shouldn’t. But I can’t help but feel that way. I can’t stand by a guy who wants to take away my Second Amendment rights, steal my money to give to whemever he sees fit (and no I don’t make over whatever today’s dollar amount is), and who seems to have some sort of weird, almost cult-like following that makes me quite uncomfortable.
Well, I never said I was “better” than the far left - only different.
If I am not mistaken the last elected leader who had such a cult following was ADOLF HITLER. Just go to google and check out obamas take on a “civilian security force” and tell me what you think. History repeats itself.
I concur. His treatment has been horrible. I felt the W movie was the icing on the cake. To make such a movie about a SITTING POTUS blows my mind! Freaking hippies and liberals!

Pres.-elect Obama will learn what Pres. Bush found out: If you’re allergic to harsh criticism, don’t run for the office. It goes with the job.
Then again, if we’re to believe Gov. Palin, criticism is a violation of the First Amendment. I wonder how long before a test case rises to SCOTUS?
I think criticism is OK. Naming your sewage ptreatment facility after a sitting President is a little low-class and makes us the laughing stock of the world.
During the wall street crash last few weeks, my GF kept asking why Bush didn’t get on TV and reassure the nation. Sadly, he DID – only eight years of calling him an idiot and a liar and a war profiteer had DESTROYED his standing as president. We didn’t do that to Clinton. We probably won’t do it to BO (even though he deserves it) because our gun clinging Republicans are, well, nicer people than Leftists.
Well, that is perhaps part of it, but it’s also because we don’t have the same stranglehold on media outlets that the Left does.
If a conservative complains but no one reports it, does it still make a sound?
to be sarcastic ![]()
I guess then that is saying that bush can take crap and clean it up to something useable !!! thats a good thing
at least I know when I go to my bathroom and take my obamas that Bush will try to clean up that mess !!!
but then again some stuff stinks so bad there is no cleaning it up !!!
I still got my W sticker on my truck. It’ll stay there, and when I get a new truck, I’ll get another sticker.
I completely and totally agree. Except for some pandering to big business, he has done everything right.
It is sad to see so much good perceived as bad by so many, but maybe in the long run we will remember him for his valiant stand for what is right. I know I will.
wellllll… I don’t think that’s accurate at all. He had hell thrown at him and handled it better than he is given credit for but he made far more mistakes, like any other president, to narrow it down to 1.
I don’t think that Bush is evil, a bad person, nor most of the words used to describe him by the left.
He has however completely disregarded free market principles, led us into a shitty situation in the middle east while talking to us as though we are third graders, set the stage for sweeping democrat victories, increased the size and scope of government, sat idly while the deficit ballooned, disregarded civil liberties, and applauded(along with the other democrats) the efforts of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in their fight to increase minority home ownership(though he also pushed for oversight.)
Ok, fair enough. What were his other mistakes then?
Thopkins22’s examples are incorrect, IMHO. He is not to blame for the middle east, nor the world’s ignorant perception of us. I blame the media and the trash they present the world in the form of slanted journalism and brainless, materialistic films we send out for everyone to judge us by. I can’t watch that crap, and I can imagine the impact some of it has on a foreigner who has no other frame of reference to America.
He did not set the stage for sweeping Democratic victories, the economy did. He has some responsibility for it’s condition, but to place full blame on him is ridiculous. And as he even stated, he was for regulation when it was needed but refuted. Allowing things like out-sourcing of jobs was a mistake, but part of the pandering I spoke of earlier. Disregard of civil liberties…please.
Did he make more than one mistake, sure. I was being a bit kind. But, the most often complained about ones seem to be the most incorrect or at least subjective.
The road to the White House for Obama was paved in large part by GWB.
He had an obligation to the health of his party beyond his 8 years and he failed miserably in that regard.
Well said…
He’ll always be my President and I’ll always be proud of him. Hated by the rest of the world is a good thing… that means he’s not catering to anyone but us.
If Bush is so hated by the lunatics, drug addicts, and morally bankrupt scum on the left… he must be doing something right.
I would have a problem with Bush if the Nut jobs of the world liked him.
+1 one this. And one of the reasons BO will be a terrible President. He panders to the rest of the world so that they love him.
He (Bush) spent too much. And he did not play enough politics (out of respect for the office – which is admirable) so he got walked all over.
He stuck to his guns to do what was right even if unpopular.
+2 for sure well spoken words
It’s simply the state of our society today. Disingenuous, disrespectful and morally bankrupt. It’s sad to see a good man smeared.
I remember back in the day when Bill Clinton first got elected, the commanding generals at Army Forts, had to have a leaders meeting at all the base theaters to order us to stop bad mouthing the new president. I’m sure history is repeating itself and that is happening again!
