The Superbowl Is A Wonderful, Glorious Thing...

Not that I saw even 5 minutes of it but…

Went to one of my favorite local Italian eateries a little past dinner time and it was empty save for about four other tables of quiet, relaxed patrons enjoying a good meal. Was able to relax and enjoy a meal with the other calm, considerate diners.

Then I realized I needed to stop by Wal Mart across the street and grab a few things. Usually I go to Wal Mart with a degree of reservation typically reserved for the dentist. To my amazement there were perhaps a couple dozen shoppers and nearly half of the registers were open with no waiting. In and out in less than 10 minutes, easily a record for negotiating Wal Mart.

Then it was onto Publix for those items I won’t purchase at Wal Mart (produce, meats, dairy, etc.) and it too was gloriously devoid of shoppers with several “no waiting” cashiers. If I didn’t have my wife with me I probably could have done all my shopping in the time it typically takes her to park the car and finish futzing around with the contents of her purse.

In fact the only thing that was even remotely disagreeable was passing a house lined with 52 cars parked on the street and a yard full of retards gathered around the giant JumboTron TV they had set up in the front yard. But thankfully I don’t live that close to them so their beer fueled hooping and a hollering didn’t cause me much inconvenience except for having to drive down the single lane street they created and realizing yet again I’m mostly surrounded by morons.

If only they had something like this every Sunday.
