I don’t think we get to militia. We go to economies like those in South America. Kleptocratic govt, gated communities and really bad crime in more areas. Little growth, lots of corruption and inflation.

I think Hillary could win 2016 but not everyone likes her even on the left there are many who despise her.
Also if she wins it would probably be one term. No party has been in the white house more than 3 consecutive terms since FDR . And I believe democrats have only won 2 terms. That’s if things go normaly. This day and age it might be different because corruption has taken hold.

The magic number is 17 million.
That is roughly the number of illegal aliens in the US. If you can get that many people openly flaunting a law you can tell the US Govt to go pound sand. It’s that simple.
The problem is that those people have nothing to lose. We’re the ones paying the taxes and now the govt bribes us with our own money. Worse they bribe other people to be against us with our money.
There are folks out there quoting number much higher than 17 million and as high as 30 million possibly.
That’s roughly between 5 and 10% of our population I believe. I don’t know who to believe on the issue as with the crime statistics I believe the Justice Department has been cooking the books on this for years.
I’m sure the only way to really know is to offer amnesty to all of them and count heads afterwards, kind of like “We need to pass this bill before we read it” kind of thing.

I remember reading a article recently that said that due to the sanctions imposed on Russia, Putin was forced to make some changes to the Russian economy… Two things that he did. No taxes on new business for 3 years, Reduction of business taxes across the board, Anyway, just by do these two things there was an immediate change in the Russian economy, it started picking up. not a huge amount but still it was going up. I thought it was kinda of ironic, The Russians figured out what they need to do to get their economy at least moving, and the U.S. it seems, is doing what the old school communist used to do, tax, regulate, everything to death, and when it doesn’t work, do more of it…
The outpouring of butthurt when I explain that Reagan was the best Democrat president we’ve had in the last half century is usually quite amusing.
What I’m hoping here is that anybody relying on the big-coalition GOP to hold the line realize that they’re neither big enough nor organized enough to do so, so a libertarian leaning candidate with the ability to communicate is going to be the best threat to actually lead effectively, even if not successful right away.
If we actually get a True, Die-Hard Pro-Liberty president in the White House, I can go to my grave in peace. Ain’t never gonna happen.

That will never happen,Like the Democrats, the GOP is part of the problem, they rolled over plain and simple, At this point I’m struggling to see why I should even vote anymore. The FSA vastly outnumbers us, and they know they hold the keys to the treasury, and will continue to reward themselves. And the GOP does nothing. The president wants to be made king via the TPP, and they hand him the crown. They know the gig is up. They’re going to stab us in the back one more time, when they pass the TPP and the TATP. At some point, upwards of 20million illegals will be given citizenship via the TPP. Then, we can look forward to endless Democrat/Communist rule, at least until the money runs out. and then, like any other group of parasites, the illegals will leave when the host is dead. As I see it, that might be our only chance to right things…
The Republicans have a very good chance of winning in 2016 if they do things right. While the media makes things seem horrible, most people not in academia or the media are fed up with this bullshit. However, they keep making the same mistakes and show no signs of changing their ways. But what they need to stop doing if they want to win the White House next year:

Stop trying to nominate caricatures of what they think the people want. That’s how the Democrats beat themselves in 2004: They got themselves a caricature of what they thought the public would vote for. 9/11 was still fresh in everyone’s mind, we were involved in two wars, and the American serviceman was the hero of the day. They nominated the only guy with some combat experience and decorations who was liberal enough for their tastes and had him play up that he was an American warrior. The voters didn’t buy it, and Bush was reelected. Fast forward to 2012. The economy is in the shitter and nobody has a job. What does the GOP do? The same thing the Democrats did in 2004: Nominate a caricature. They picked a guy who kept saying over and over that he is a “businessman” and knows money and thus, knows how to fix the economy. What happened? Same thing. Now the base of the GOP is anti-politician, anti-tax, and strongly desiring to recapture the American dream of success being the reward of hard work. So what are they talking about doing? Nominating rich people who supposedly have rags-to-riches stories and no time spent in politics. Instead of nominating supposed representations of what America wants, why not just nominate a guy who is going to get the government off our back and let us live our lives?

Stop thinking that the answer to big government is big business. As I just said, 3 of the leading nominees are rich people with no political experience. The problem is, if there’s anything that the American people hate more than huge bureaucracy, it’s huge corporations. Many people, myself included, don’t see corporations as the lesser of two evils; I see them as the equal of two evils. They are large, incompetent, often psychopathic organizations that often use slave labor and think nothing of destroying the environment to make a dime…basically the same thing as a government, but without nukes (as far was we know). Why would anyone want Herman Cain, Carly Fiorina, Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, etc? They are the people that America blames for the crappy economy.

Stop nominating people that they think are going to steal votes from the left. You can’t; they’re too ignorant and evil to vote against the Democrats. If Hitler ran on the D ticket with Genghis Khan as his VP, he’d receive universal support from the media and academia simply for being a Democrat. That’s just a fact. Enough trying to steal votes. Pick someone who will mobilize and excite your base. That’s what the Democrats do and it works for them. At the end of the day, your average American simply wants someone who is going to let him keep most of his money and who is going to leave him alone.

I agree, but a little disagreement on #2.
I try very hard to vote for folks with ‘normal experience.’ I trend towards voting for veterans, and folks who had been successful on their own merits, not taking Daddy’s fortune and doing something with it, but actually scraping and scrapping to get it done.
Absent superb performance that shows selfless service, I won’t vote for folks who have spent their entire post college career in government and made a career of governing.
What we need are guys in their early to mid-40’s, respected by their communities because they are hardworking and forward thinking, who have shown the ability to look a solutions not some dogma, who are willing, and able to take a break for the good of the Nation, not themselves, who hate Washington, can’t wait to get their service done and return back to their passion.
Those are guys who would embrace term limits and spit in lobbyist’s faces. They are Americans, not the Politboro, and there are damned few of them in the Legislative Branch.
The last sentence of #3, would probably be enough if that person ran on that alone.
Except that your “average American” is on the dole in some way (EITC, SSI, Obama Care subsidies, welfare, food stamps, etc.) and will never vote to stop that. Figures I’ve seen put it at around 50%+…that spells impending disaster.

Milton Friedman had some excellent presentations about how it isn’t the lower 50+% that is the problem as much as it is a selection of the elites that, in the name of the poor, rob the middle and upper classes. Think welfare infrastructure and all the govt jobs involved and Reagan’s 64 speech where he pointed out that we spend enough on welfare to take everyone out of poverty- but somehow it never gets there. Friedman also talks about how much money goes to middle class people, but that they never think that they are getting their fair share back- I think of it as going out drinking on a joint tab and there is never enough money to cover the tab- everyone thinks that they are giving more and getting less than they actually are. (I would like to point out that even right after college, even though my close friends and I didn’t make real money, we always had extra in the pot to cover the bill so that we would let it roll and it eventually paid for our breakfast.)
