The Reason The Axis Lost WW2

My new favorite history YT channel via the Imperial War Museums. Students of history will know most of this, but excellent summary of a very complex war. The fact that appeasement was an actual policy followed in the face of aggression, guaranteed WWII alone. What did we learn from that? Nothing apparently. Weakness and weak leaders, results in mass death and destruction and loss of territory, always, full stop.

I’ve heard it debated, I’ve read books about it, it all comes down to going a bit slower and more methodical.

Own the Mediterranean and batten down the entrance. Take a breath before going in to Russia and maybe rebuild what you have in equipment and manpower. Juke Lord Halifax a little better, play for time and then keep Russia on hold and go do Sea Lion.

Yeah, A real Air Force wouldn’t hurt either.

A bit off topic, but perhaps the better question might be “Why did we Win?” or “Why did we Win in spite of ourselves?”

Why we won and they lost, is well covered in that vid in a summarized way.

My comment was more in line with “With Freinds like Montgomery who needs Enemies.”?

Victo David Hanson has an entire WWII series that is pretty good.

I haven’t had time to watch the video, I am in the middle of a war of my own right now.

I have been in several wars and a ton of hits against terrorist.

People win wars because of 2 things they mess up less than their enemy and second they have the industry to keep the military supplied
