It was mentioned in the other, now locked thread, that the can failed due to improper welding of the seams.

The body and threads were all turned as one piece from solid 400 series SS bar stock. Seen in the pics. below as there is no seam were the threads/collar met the body of the suppressor.

The can was very hot seconds after it split. Three, 20 rd. mags on full auto. Half way thru the fourth is when it failed. Round count of approx. 300 total.

I’m not gunna post the mfg. due to issues w/ it being replaced. But the company is a recognized class 2 mfg. that runs ads in SAR.

thats about it-

before-

after-

also,. … +1 on wearing shooting glasses IMO. A blast of directed hot gas while shooting is a eye opener for safety!

I don’t know why someone would use bar stock as it is so much harder than just buying seamless tubing.

This is a perfect example of why we weld everything to everything in our rifle silencers.

It seems nuts to bore that tube from bar stock.

So is anyone going to tell us who made that can? Was the can defective?

I know who made it. I was just looking at a SAR mag today with an article on them…

I would consider that a defective can…

So where can I get a copy of SAR? I swing a hammer for a living Kevin. I’m not HSLD, I just like to shoot shit.

Yes I know what SAR means but no one around here sells it.

Hmm,

I don’t even recall when I bought my last issue – I was cleaning a Bookshelf and got sidetracked in the “suppressor” issue from last year. I keep meaning to get a subscription but I have not stayed in one address for the last 6 years for longer than a year…
I think you can order online.

Thx man I’ll do that. I have looked for it for a long time at all the news stands but never have found a copy.
