My wife is dragging me up there next month…her part of the deal I made to get a new motorcycle. The prospect of A) being in a huge city and B) being unarmed isn’t inviting. At all. I don’t see the appeal.
Could always start a kitchen fire, that could get ya out of it. What’s more important, going to NYC or fixing the kitchen? ![]()
You can thank me later, NYH1.
I go a couple times a year for 2 reasons:
- My brother lives there
- The food
New York is fun, but I get overwhelmed in cities. Plus, the greed, narcissism, selfishness, hypocrisy, and hedonism just oozes from every pore of the city. It is a city consumed by wickedness.
That’s an interesting idea…hmmmm…
Have your brother come visit you and bring the food with him! :haha:
NYH1.

Just don’t get to carried away!
NYH1.
Man, you just described exactly how I feel about Vegas.
You could always go a few hours west for… French Fries on everything! I suppose that does make NYC look appealing as far as food choices go. You should really try coming down South if you want to tickle your palate. I’d suggest New Orleans. Houston is only a few hours drive from NO and we REALLY like to eat good food here.
I grew up near Erie and I can 100% agree with this sentiment. The retards on the east coast trashed the state beyond repair.

Been to New Orleans and loved it. I know it has its problems, and lots of them. But the nice parts of Orleans Parish are really, really nice. The food, the people, the culture…nothing like it anywhere in the U.S. My wife and I considered moving there about 10 years ago; I had applied for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. But budget put the sheriff’s office on hiring freeze, and life got in the way, so we stayed in the northeast. We’re happy where we’re at now. We’ve still gotta go back to the Big Easy sometime though.
It’s not just NYC. City life sucks the humanity out of people.
Other people are not your neighbors in a big city, they are just things that are always, ALWAYS in your way.
You spelled out exactly who the money is going to, its laborers that don’t need to be there and are being paid more than their labor is worth. This is because of Unions. Unions are are only beneficial to its members, the increase in cost they cause is handed straight to the consumer to shoulder, or in this case tax payers.
This contract is essentially welfare, to the tune of 365K$ a year per person for at least 200 people. Government is happy because this sort of thing keeps unemployment numbers lower, and people on health care. The construction companies may be ‘paying’ these employees, but the tax payers are actually paying them, just like welfare.
There are many good reasons to visit NYC/NYS. Family, history, culture, etc. I have family in NJ (another hell hole). I don’t visit often but I try at least once a year.
