Hello guys! I have some great news but also need your help. My father has just promised to get me a new pistol regardless of is price as soon as he starts to work as a professor at the university! So I really don’t need something that is going to be just a collector item, I want something I can depend on, I want the most durable and reliable 9mm that money can buy? What should I choose?

I’d recommend a Glock 17 with a NY1 trigger spring and if you can find one a genuine 3.5lb connector.
Easy answer, a used Sig 210.

Buck and others are correct: get a Glock 17 for durability and reliability.

Even though I’m an M&P kool-aid sipper I wouldnt hesitate to say that the glock 17 is the most reliable.
Even though I don’t really like them…Glock 19/17.
If you like the Glock, great. If not, there are other tough and reliable 9mms that are considered top of the line. Examples are H&K USP/P2000/P30, Sig P226/P228/P239/P229, and Beretta M9. The S&W M&P can be counted to, although it hasn’t been around that long relative to the others and doesn’t have a very long history of widespread agency use like the other 3 brands do.
Out of curiousity, for those advocating the G17, what about it makes it more reliable or durable than the G19. Not trying to be smart, I’m honestly curious.
I carry both and the only difference to me us the size. They are both reliable and durable and I can’t see one winning out over the other in either department. I love both and use both for different applications. I do find the G17 just as easy to conceal as the G19.
Another vote for the Glock 17.

Oooohhhh, those are good choices as well and sadly often overlooked.
In my very limeted experience I have found the Sig P226 and the more consealable P239 to be very reliable.
That’s an easy one to answer.

SIG P226/8/9
I’ve owned examples of each and they’ve all been 100% reliable and I’m sure they can all take much more abuse than I’m ever going to dish out. Pick one that fits you well. You really can’t go wrong.
