Mike Rock?, GAP, Noveske?

Trying to figure out which barrel for my next SEMI-AUTO AR-10 project.

I’ve seen great results from Noveske, KAC and several DPMS units too.

Mike Rock makes good barrels and so does Kriegers. Both are in WI :slight_smile: Never seen a comparison for the best. Most of it is up to the shooter.

I would go with a Kreiger or Noveske (PacNor).

Bartlein, Obermeyer, PacNor (Noveske), Lothar-Walther, Mike Rock all shoot very well in semi-auto .308’s.

I’ve personally owned Bartlein, Noveske, L-W, and Rock barrels and the Bartlein was the most accurate when I shot it. The Rock barrel was the most accurate when my best friend shot it.

I think the WOA barrels are decent too, at the price point.

So once I choose a barrel, where should I send it to get fitted to the upper reciever?.

Do those more custom barrels come with the gas port pre drilled?.

I’ve purchased all my AR-10 barrels from shops that assemble AR-10’s, so if they came without the port or extension the shop was capable of doing that work.

The Bartlein and Rock came from GAP. Noveske is obvious. Lothar-Wlather was a stock ArmaLite (T) barrel. Obermeyer barrel was also done at GAP but I got it secondhand.

I have moved most of my AR-10 stuff and now am moving most of the rest, so these have all moved in to other’s hands now.

SHIVAN, are you dropping the platform all together?, if so, why?.

I am keeping my SBR lower and will save up for a 12.5" Leonidas barrel later down the road.

I LOVE the AR-10, and will always own one, but I don’t and didn’t need three .308 Win precision uppers, a .243 Win upper, a .308 Win 16" carbine upper, a 13" SBR upper and 40 mags for it.

I sold about half off last year, and I’m selling the carbine and .243 Win upper now.
