The last remaining Russian T-62's

Intresting Video about how aparently Russia has blown through their Tank back stock.

They are getting down to bones and rags at this point.

There is a lot of reasons Russian Tankers hated T-62’s and all these were the last of the bunch.

So what’s next? Vlad decides to start breaking out the six-packs of Canned Sunshine? Russian military thinking has always been rooted in two things, the Red Army’s armor as the first line and their nuclear arsenal the second.

I don’t believe their Nukes are in any better shape than their tanks.

I’d be interested in hearing more about why the T62 was hated.

Look at the Tank from the rear. Underneath the bottom of the Hull you will notice a protrusion. This protrusion is due to the Transmisson, in an effort to reduce the size of the Hull they decided that the transmisson would work best this way, protruding underneath the hull. Well, it occasionally will catch you and you end up “High Centered” and stuck.

The 115 mm Main Gun nearly doubled the range of the previous 100 mm Tank Cannon by removing the Lands and Grooves they obtained a 115 mm cannon. Accuracy be damned.

They lack Modern High Power Optics, Ballistic Computers and Thermal Sights and a modern armor package.

Part of me is sad that these tanks won’t end up in the museums they belong in.
The FPV control system developer in me knows that ‘drone go brrr’, so I guess I’ll have to settle for them being immortalized in DVR that I can watch.

Crazy isn’t it? How time degrades everything.

I sat on the German Border from 1981 to 1989 and even back the T-62’s were relegated to Boneyards. The T-64’s and T-72’s were the real deal then.

Sometimes I think about how the Soviet’s produced weapons systems.and My observation was that it was everything bad about socialism that you could fit in one Tank Factory.

The Tank was produced and tested and they knew then it was far from where they wanted it to go, but they got the approval and were tooled up, so they produced a piece of shit. Then they mass produced further prices of shit. And when the better Tank was available, they still kept making T-62 pieces of shit. Such a piece of shit that at one point they were going to take the Turrets off the hulls and put the Turrets in concrete along the Chinese border. But they kept making them.

Follow along with me for a minute The T-55 Gun was 100 mm. Tank Gun Tubes are difficult to make and very expensive, the steel must be very, very strong but have some elastic like qualities to work correctly. The T-55 Gun tube is 100mm and the T-62 Gun Tube was 115 mm, now thnk about that a minute.

They just reamed the damned lands and grooves out of the old style Gun Tube and Voila ! 115mm Gun Tube. No wonder they complained about accuracy.
