The gap below the trigger guard roll pin

That thing ate up my middle finger today when I qualified on the M4. My personal AR-15s have the magpul trigger guards which of course fill the gap with plastic… but is there something else not quite as permanent (that doesn’t require hammering out a roll pin, for example) that I can use to fill the gap on my issued weapon and remove before turning it in?

Silicon? Does someone make something that just plugs in?

Foam ear plug.

:suicide2:

They even had a foam ear plug dispenser at the range…

Well thanks!

Trim to fit a foam earplug or spend $3 on The Gapper.

It looks like “the gapper” needs to be installed when you install the trigger guard?

It’s like searching high and low for sunglasses on top of your head. It happens.

Your penance is 100 dry fires.

No you just need to loosen the grip screw slightly until you can move the grip around enough to slide it in.

This is the path to happiness.

I never knew this was a problem, I guess I have tough fingers; but good to know how to fix if I find someone that complains about it.

No its only a problem with some lowers…not brand specific. The gapper works great.
