I just thought that some of you might want to know about BO’s disregard for the American Legion immediately after his police issues. A good friend of mine attended The American Legion Boys’ Nation a couple of weeks ago and was elected president (for those unfamiliar with the program, it is a mock government run entirely by high school juniors). Anyway Boys’ Nation began in 1946 and has been held every year since. As a tradition, every year the current PotUS has a meal with the Boys’ Nation pres. and gives a private tour of the White House. This year started out no different and Obama agreed to eat breakfast with my friend and some members of the legion and give the White House tour but when the time came, he wasn’t there. He didn’t show up for the meal and didn’t send word before or afterward to explain it; he just didn’t show up. He is the first president in history to blow off the American Legion like this.
Anyway, I just thought that with the high percentage of veterans on the board, some might like to know about how Obama treats the largest veterans organization in the country. I don’t have any news stories backing this up since it wasn’t covered but you can look it up. The person elected this year is also from Green River, Wyoming (where I’m located) and attends the same high school. I wanted to post this sooner but he wanted to wait for an explanation so I agreed to wait. As of tonight, still no word and he said to throw it up anywhere I thought people would like to know about it.
