“Vehicles that are moving will be stopped and searched for guns, weapons, drugs, and open alcohol and any other violations that are taking place,” Parks later told KMOX’s Mark Reardon. “People who are walking, people who are bicycling, can be stopped and searched for the same and, when it comes to state IDs, we’re going to be confirming that state IDs are in place for everyone involved.”

A truly desperate, yet much more effective message would be for police chiefs across the nation to call for both black parent responsibility and also accountability.

Are they going to stop all moving vehicles? As in checkpoints?
What if that person is not from the area, and has an out of state ID. Do they still get arrested?

Reaction based on political affiliation is why shit likes this happens in the first place. Republican apparatchiks on this site will vociferously defend the very same actions of the Bush Admin. that causes them to react to Obama with breathless horror and rants about what a commie he is. It isn’t just this site either, it’s the nation as a whole. The “our team” mentality is what has allowed the two main parties to become flip sides of the same coin and do essentially the same reprehensible bullshit. Just look at the posts above mine.
