Several years ago, before the proliferation of braces, I watched a few vids of firearms instructors doing the same with AR pistols. They were fairly fast and accurate getting a cheek weld on the pistol buffer tube while pushing forward on the gun, tensioning the sling.
A very interesting concept. Too bad I’m a lefty. I don’t think it’ll replace traditional ccw simply because it’s much more bulkier, and harder to conceal. And with a jacket required to conceal it, it’s definitely not a hot summer set up. He is quite fast and accurate with it, especially the CP33 .22 LR version of the set up.
Any compressed position is going to come with some risk. The same has been said about firing from #2 in a four count draw. Reliable indexing would be important.
That’s awesome. The Israelíes used a similar concept with their uzis. I definitely like the upright position vs hunched over. I’m working on a Colt smg pistol build with a red dot mounted on the carry handle and this is something that I need to try.
ETA: I experimented with this concept some today at an indoor range with a Colt SMG 9mm pistol with the brace removed. I had a red dot mounted on the carry handle. At 10 yards it was stupid easy to put all of the shots into one hole as fast as I could pull the trigger. At 20 yards also stupid easy. Then the range nazi stopped my and informed me that they had a policy that guns must be shouldered. I’ll try on steel the next time I go to an outdoor range. I don’t see any learning curve simple straight forward.
