‘The American Society Of Magical Negroes’

Wonderful.

The trailer features a scene where white people are described as “the most dangerous animal on the planet.”

Once upon a time, not too long ago. This type of thing would have never been made, let alone a trailer coming out.

Me are sinking into something dark, with no moral standards.

Frightening

The commies are poking a bear.

It would be truly magical if they could face facts and curb black on black crime numbers.

It’s like you’ve never seen a Keenen Ivory Wayans or Wayans Brothers film and they’ve been doing race satire films since the 80’s. So yeah this type of film has been made many times over for decades.

This is the same type of thing with Blazing Saddles, where people say “you can’t make that today.” Yeah you you can, but all those butthurt feelings don’t just reside just on college campuses with pink haired gender studies types. Just a matter or whose fee-fees get hurt.

Have definetly seen most of their stuff and obviously Chappell did a bunch as well.

I think the difference between now and those time periods. Is that in this time period, the past 6-7 years is that there is open push to demonize people. 3 letter agencies do it, the DOJ has done it. Academia and Corporations through DEI and CRT are doing it.

I simply flip the the message and if it were to cause a stir amongst minorities, than maybe it is not satir, especially when the grifters behind rhis film are the Obamas.

I don’t think this film has the means to “stir amongst minorities”, anymore than something like “White Chicks”. However I doubt it will be any good because most good race satire from a black perspective (Wayans, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor or Robert Townsend) focuses on self-parody, not targeting other race X. Chapelle does far more jokes about black people than white people. Same is true for Donald Glover’s “Atlanta.” Self reflection isn’t all that big for minorities in 2023.

This isn’t on my list of things to watch, but I am expecting it be along the lines of that trash “Dear White People.” I might be wrong, but the lead guy on ‘The American Society Of Magical Negroes’ went to Yale, and not much good comes out of Yale.

This isn’t even that original.

Awhile back Spike Lee created the term “magical negro” as a racist concept, because he believes that any time a black person helps a white person it’s an act of racism.

So films like “The Green Mile” aren’t about finally seeing black people as gifted or some kind of enlightened super being, it’s just another form of hatred of black people in the minds of racists like Spike Lee.

They just finally made an affirming film about Spike Lee’s ridiculous racist notion.

Oh and if you are wondering, films where a white person somehow helps a black person because they are somehow gifted or a super enlightened human being, well that just plain old racism and another example of white people being superior to black people.

That said “white people are the most dangerous animal on the planet” is very, very out of context even for this film and the manufactured outrage is just another form of ridiculous racial BS that will only promote what would otherwise be another “whatever” film of little consequence.

Here is a 2 minute film clip from the movie paradise that addresses the Magical Negro concept in a humous way:

And here we go, a short comedy video: Magical Negro rehab:

Kind of sad that some idiot made this a thing. If back in the 60s, you made a film about a black person with special powers that actually helped white people only the KKK and other rabid racists would have hated it. But today it’s Spike Lee. But a whole generation of black people probably would have changed their world view if a film like that existed in the 1960s.

“Hollywood finally made a film about us, and we are super enlightened people and even white folks need our help.”

I remember learning what a big deal it was for black people to have Lt. Uhura on Star Trek and all she did was handle the comms.

And kiss the captain.

Godfrey Cambridge did a movie in the early 1960s about aa White Man that wakes up one morning to find out he is now black.
That’s all the “Magic Negro” you’ll ever need. Truly a monument to civil rights.

Anyone remember Limbaugh playing the parody song of Sharpton singing Barack the Magic Negro to the tune of Puff the Magic Dragon?

For anyone curious… this was the background and context as explained by Rush to a caller.

Watermelon Man

Yup, great movie.

I like Key and Peele’s version better.

That’s who I thought it was going to be when the ad came on last night.
