Mr. Vickers;
A lot has probably been written on the topic but I’d like to hear your thoughts/opinion. As far as I’m aware, many (or all) of the former Warsaw Pact nations that operated the AK-74 and it’s 5.45mm round have joined NATO and converted over to some variation of the 5.56mm system.
Do you think future historians will look back on the AK-74 as a successful design or more of an also-ran? I would think that it’s overall impact on events hasn’t been nearly as pronounced as the AK-47/AKM series.
