Part of the LaRue Range Day included a live fire aerial demonstration by Texas DPS (State Troopers). They issue LaRue OBR’s with Surefire cans and Aimpoint M4’s. Pretty nice setup…
I was amazed at how quiet the helocopter was. Im used to Blackhawks and the like which are much louder. This thing was 50 yards away at times and wasn’t loud at all. After the demonstration they landed in an empty bay and answered questions.
Yep had fun. Took a neighbor, too, who doesn’t own any guns. We didn’t shoot anything but we’re gonna go back once everything at the range goes back to normal. The lines were very long and the vendor tent was so packed I was getting claustrophobic.
No BBQ, either…we waited in line for 20 minutes, and when there was only 4 people ahead of us they closed down and said it would be another 20-30 minutes… Stopped at Mighty Fine on the way home instead.
is it an improvement over the ms2? while i dont like to bash the work of people are are a helluva lost more experienced than myself, im not crazy about the ms2.
I didn’t get to fondle it but it seemed bettter then my MS2. The hardware is bigger and seems easier to manipulate. Also, the nylon is of a different flavor and wider, looks more stable. They will be shipping next month.
In regards to the sling, I am a loud critic of the MS2 after it failed me twice when I really needed it. The slide portion locked up when the strap turned onto itself in the metal slider. I kept the metal parts and the remainder now rests south of the tower of Babel.
That said, I really like the improvements the MS3 has. The strap is wider and the sliders fit well. The hardware is much improved over the MS2. The new hardware appears to be custom designed for the job, and not ordered through a horse tack catalog. The strap is supposed to fray less than the previous version (velcro magnet)
Some may not like the width of the new version. I think it may be a winner this time. The real test for me will be using and abusing it.
What the hell man, I forgot all about it. If I would have known you, Belmont and whoever else from the forum were all going to be there, I would have headed up.
I still have one of your Pmags, by the way. Hope you all enjoyed it.
