Tennessee's crooked criminal justice system

TN.gov has been screwing over quite a few sober drivers at the city, county, and state levels.

Hundreds of sober people have been arrested with all of the fun that entails.

Ignition interlock rental appears to be another part of the scam. If La Vergne PD was the arresting agency with any of these victims, that makes it even worse.

According to White, this trooper decertification hearing is something of an offshoot of the sober drivers scam by way of the investigation and exposure from WSMV.

It is long, but worth watching. I initially fast forwarded through parts of it and ended up starting it over to watch in it’s entirety.

As mentioned by White, while Trooper Cotton does seem to suck for the most part due to some crap he was doing(such as ditching court appearances the judge(s) should have nailed him over), this seems to be more about punishing him for not carrying out the quota demands of THP than the egregious shit(featuring identifiable victims) that seems to be a frequent theme with le agencies canning cops. There is also the issue of going way back to find crap on his dash/body cam footage instead of it being dealt with when it occurred.

While he does seem to suck fairly bad, he did save a child’s life in 2018.

Sorry, but I fail to see how you can exceed 600 false arrests/indictments without a criminal conspiracy. They should be under DoJ investigation for deprivation of rights, along with a class action lawsuit for the same.

600 sounds like a lot… but if I’m reading this correctly that’s over a seven year period and over a hundred thousand field sobriety tests and arrests, of which over 99% tested positive for alcohol or some type of drug. Damn cops… only 99%+ correct on their sobriety calls in the field! And that doesn’t count the drivers that the cops allowed to drive on after the field sobriety test.

Data in the linked story.

Here’s a couple of the victims where part of the le justification for the arrest was the guy had been shooting pool(anyone they know who shoots pool drinks) and the other one has a relative who smokes pot so the victim has to also(plus whatever the perps discussed when cutting their microphones off).

And that is along with the quota system and other problems that were revealed during the Trooper Cotton video.

If private citizens snatched @80 Tennessee cops a year off the rooads and hauled them off for interrogation to determine if they had committed any crimes there would be quite the howl from the le community.

Much like how kidnapping should never have been allowed to identify as wrongful/false arrest, racketeering and criminal kingpin laws should never have been allowed to identify as entrapment.

Tennessee ABC edition.

Boss Hogg appears to be alive and well…

ABC wine purchase… eh… weak sauce.

If ya really want to read about Tennessee law enforcement wrongdoing Google ‘Billy Long’. Billy was our local Hamilton County sheriff. Enjoy.

Long story short… extortion, money laundering, drugs, guns… served eight years in prison followed by an additional five years house arrest which I think he finished a couple years ago.

The Tennessee ABC has always been a sketchy bunch, must be a holdover from prohibition days. And I say that as a former TN LEO.

I wonder if WSMV was the media outlet from back in my early days on the internet(1997 +/- a year or 2) that had investigated Tennessee le agencies and found numerous convicted felons sworn in with city, county, and state agencies? That was something I picked up on an email list(Glock, AR15, or 1911) barely prior to forums. Not sure if it was the TN sworn felons news or lautenberg domestic violence news when I learned federal law(and iirc a state or 2) has an exemption for felons to be armed if they are sworn le.

The TN agencies vowed to clean up their acts and within 5 years the news source went digging again and found numerous sworn felons at city, county, and state agencies again who all vowed to clean up their acts again.

Can’t recall if there was another cycle of the media outlet doing their job with the agencies getting caught and making another purity vow, but I do not recall any news about TN swearing in felon cops after 2010.

Tennessee legislature indicates a desire for the state to violate rights, heading to the governor’s desk

Neighbor doesn’t like people shooting and Macon County TN sheriff’s office doesn’t like that either so they seize their victim’s firearm, arrest him, begin concocting reasons to justify the arrest, and put the screws to him.
