Local gun shop has a used one for 650, looks almost new. Do I need this?

It is a Taurus. I’m gonna say probably not.
It depends, if it is a stainless .454 it might be a good buy. I know avid guns guys that really like them. I have a Blued .44 and it shoot pretty well, but I wouldn’t pay that much for it. I like the Ruger Super Red Hawk better But you are going to pay more than that for one.
IMHO, every gun guy should own a .44 Mag at least once.
