Target sizes? Who's good at math?

I’m looking to make a few dry fire practice targets out of wood and need some help with the silhouette sizes. This would be “shooting” at roughly the 8 yard line. What size (in inches) would an average human silhouette be at 50 and 100 yards?
Thanks!!

6 foot silhouette at 100 yards would be roughly 0.45 feet at 8 yards. 6foot silhouette at 50 yards would be half that, or 0.225 feet at 8 yards. some one correct me if wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s right.

You’re reducing everything to 8% the original distance (8 yards is 8% of 100 yards), so just figure out 8% of the target size.

For a 6 foot tall silhouette,

8% of 6 feet = 0.08 x 6 feet = 0.48 feet = 5.76 inches.

Thanks fellas!

No problem C_S. For future reference to figure out scale sizes.

Measurement of full size target/distance you wish to simulate X distance you will have target at.

so in the case of the 6 foot silhouette at 50…

6ft/50(m) X 8(yrds)= scale height in feet at 8 yards.
