Hello All
I just recieved a new TangoDown vertical foregrip last week and installed it on my Troy rail. At first it seemed nice and snug, but now I notice it wiggles side to side. I’m sure i’ve seen someone post how to fix this, but I’m not very computer literate and my search did not find anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Did you put it on and take it off several times?
Those things should be installed ONCE and then left alone.
Mine wiggles a little bit. Very common.
No big deal.
I’m still hoping for a LaRue QD VFG… it would be QD yet wobble-free, even on out-of-spec rails.
I’ve installed it once. I’m not mad that its wobbly. it doesn’t seem to effect the handling at all. I ust wanted to make sure I installed it correctly.
This is funny as hell.
I installed an Ergo VFG that bolts in to the handguards, and got shit for it, and the thing has been rock solid for thousands of rounds and multiple range sessions…

Hi Matt- I have over 40 TD VFG on Larue, SF and KAC rails. The only one on which there was a problem was the KAC rail. The same VFG fit well on a Larue rail, so the potential is that the rail had a problem.
I received an e mail from a guy last week who said he couldn’t get the TD VFG on a Larue Rail. Later inspection showed that the rail- purchased of a forum- had been damaged. A pass with a file and the rail was de- burred and the VFG on.
Jeff Cahill is meticulous in what he does. That doesn’t meam that sometimes something bad doesn’t slip through. But it isn’t often.
First, play between a rail and a VG matters not. The M1913 Picatinny spec has variances in it. Sometimes a manufacturer is on the high side which another is on the low side.
So the answer to your question is that there is no way to fix anything as nothing is broken.

I also noticed my TD vertical grip had wiggle on my KAC rail but it is rock solid on my LaRue rail.
On another note I also find myself preferring the thinner KAC style veritcal grip and also, in some cases shooting without a vertical grip feels better.

3/16" roll pins in the gap will fix the problem.
All rils are not the same size!
Mine is rock solid on an LMT upper.
Mine’s mounted on a 7" Daniel Defense rail and it’s solid.
So’s mine, and it’s not rock solid. The roll pins have helped some.
One thing that I’ve thought about is that i mounted the VFG on a Surefire rail and remeber having to hammer it on there. Then I mounted it on my MRP. Maybe thats the crux of the problem.
I’m getting ready to set up a new M4 with and LMT upper and new TD VFG. Maybe that we’ll be more satisfactory.? Regardless. i think anytime you mount thermo plastic to metal and seriously use it…there’s going to be some wear and give. It only seems logical.
I’m really interested in a LaRue mount for the TD down grip because I know ahter using 5 other LaRue products that it will be Rock solid and 100% repeatable.
I had to hammer mine onto the LMT rail as well. I used a nylon hammer and did it with the buttons pushed in.
I had sent a message to Tango Down in regards to the grip. I recived an e-mail from Jeff Cahill and he is sending another one my way. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I recived a second VFG from Jeff at Tango down a few days back and was able to take it to the range today. The second grip has the same lateral movement as the first. After going through some range drills with a buddy, I was not able to notice any controllabilty issues with the rifle. The only time I really notice the movement is when I am actually messing with the grip.
I’m going to leave it mounted and continue using it. Every other aspect of the grip is outstanding and I am, all in all very happy.

Two that I’ve had have been a little wobbly on two different DD rails I’ve had and my friends TD is wobbly on his Troy also.

Got a TD vfg on a Larue rail, there is a bit of side to side wiggle but it did not bother me much… What bothers me is why this vfg costs 60+ bucks…
Can you tell us what other VG does the same things as the TD VG for the same amount of money???

The new BOBRO vfg looks nice, its got a quick on quick off feature.
I have no regrets about my TD vfg, its just that my buddies are bragging about how cheap their airsoft knockoffs being 1/4 the price… and does the same thing… so they say:)
