Tactical Sling Question?

Which would you guys prefer?
1)LARUE VTAC-LR2 SLING
2)VICKERS VCAS COBRA SLING
3)OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

I have both VTac and Vickers/BFG slings on weapons - ARs and shotguns. From my perspective, I think you’d be well served by either.

My only concern is where are the VTac slings being sewn now.

  1. Israeli Sling. Enables most of the carry modes that many of the tac slings offer, but retains the simple two point attachment and carry options.

Versatility is the big benefit to the Israeli sling… two methods of ready/tactical carry, African carry, American carry, slung across the back, etc.

(on the downside, it’s not expensive so you won’t get that sensation of spending a lot of money for a fancy piece of gear  )

I can highly recommend the Vickers CAS, however I cannot compare it to the VTAC sling because I haven’t used one. I have heard that they are very nice as well.

I got a Vickers/BFG VCAS 2-point for Christmas and it is really nice, well-made sturdy item of kit. Check out the installation instructions here: http://www.blueforcegear.com/pdf/INSTRUCTIONS_VICKERS_SLING.pdf

I used a padded VTAC for a while. I really liked the padding and softness of the sling material. I was literally at wits end when I switched (for free) to the VTAC, as I was constantly abraiding and irritating my neck with other slings. I have used one points, but was mainly a three-point guy. I found that the sling did everything I liked that the one or three point did (on a 14.5 gun), and eliminated the hassles of either. I was a convert.

I used a bunch of two-points for a while, but never really used the VCAS. There was something about it that just didn’t interest me. Then on advice from this forum, I finally picked up a VCAS.

It’s perfect. Abso-effing-lutely perfect. I wish I had tried it out long ago. The VTAC, even when adjusted properly, will have a length of loose webbing, which must be there to allow you to lengthen the sling. When tightening the sling, you will have even more loose webbing. Not so for the VCAS. Clean, simple, good material, tough, and intuitive.

I like two-point slings better than any other sling option (other than single point on 10.5 guns), and prefer the VCAS to all other 2-points.

Yeah, what he said!

Just picked one up myself. Should have done it when they first came out. Outstanding! Well worth it!

I second that suggestion.

It’s the best sling I’ve ever used.
