There’s a MOLLE covered one that I just brought back to the store. They didn’t have a chance to take pictures yet but it’ll be up soon. Just a little FYI, It’s fucking awesome.
I assume you’re talking about this one?

Looks pretty frickin’ nice! The dudes at lightfighter seem to think Mayflower is GTG, so now I just have to flip a coin and choose between this and the SOHPC… or maybe I’ll just get both. ![]()
Yep, that’s it. BAD ASS.
Ok, I’m sold, but what about sizing? Can we send you current soft panel sizing to insure that the carrier will fit our armor?
Uhhhhh…No, but you can trace it and/or give us the manufacturer and current size and we can let you know if it fits. It fits NATO and standard concealment armor. Anything “custom” is going to be hit or miss.
Josh, question(s) about the non-molle version here
http://stores.greygrouptraining.com/-strse-3059/Mayflower-Low-Profile-Carrier/Detail.bok#
Will the fastex on the front work with the Eagle LE-M4 chest rigs?
Are those buckles removeable? If so, how do they attach?
Is the plate pocket accessed from the outside or the inside of the vest?
Is the opening to insert the soft armor zippered?
Any idea if this will cause the inserts I have (Paraclete Twaron) to bunch inside the carrier?
I’ll throw some twaron in and see how it fits, but I think I already know the answer.
Cool. If it doesn’t cause the bunching (although I take from your post that you expect that it will) then I think it’s EXACTLY what I’m looking for!
Has anyone tried one of these yet?
JC,
I really like the Tactical Tailor version…

The problem is cost. At $325.00 for just the carrier, it’s a little too rich for my blood.
Zushwa,
Would you (or any other responsible party) entertain a M4C group purchase?
TacticalYellowVisor.net gets like 1,001,34099272 hits a day. A little T&E write up from Rob might be just what this product needs.
PM me offline if necessary.
Don’t get me wrong, I usually really like Tactical Tailor’s stuff… but this rig looks a lot bulkier than the Mayflower rig. Almost like a CIRAS that uses concealable armor panels. That said, it should be a great option for a LEO that wants a “cheap” alternative to a full-blown overt armor system like a CIRAS or RAV, where he can just drop in his concealable armor… which is probably exactly the market they’re targeting with this rig.
On the other hand, even the Mayflower rig with the MOLLE webbing looks like you could run it slick and still conceal it as well as (or better than ) a “concealable” BALCS carrier.
Guys I agree, the price tag is pretty high. I was issued new IIIA panels at work and I don’t always use plates (depending on what we are doing). I was originally going to have Tactical Tailor make up a custom carrier to fit the new panels…runs about $200 to have them do it.
I saw this carrier and I had the same thought, reminded me of a CIRAS or other similar model. Once I have my carrier on, I’m usually wearing it for a long time, so I agree, I think they were definitely targeting a LEO market here and I think it is great for that purpose.
Just throwing out another option. I decided to suck it up and ordered one, if anyone is interested, I’ll post some pics and a review when it comes in…probably by next week.
Yes Sir! Please do.
And while you’re at, give us some comparable to this…

Thanks for the vote of confidence. FWIW, I pay for, or return, every item I review on my site. I have gotten a couple of items for T&E on loan and decided I liked them enough to pay for them so I could keep them, but everything else I either send back or buy at retail to begin with.
I’m more than happy to pay for the Mayflower rig if it sounds like it will work for me. Of course, I’ll still wind up posting about it on my site. ![]()
First, Mayflower doesn’t need anyone to “T&E” their gear. They already have a significant test base. “Review” would probably be more appropriate.
I wouldn’t consider myself an expert, but I’m pretty familiar with most carriers out there. NO ONE makes a more concealable, user friendly carrier than Mayflower.
I would entertain a group buy. Let me see what kind of minimums and prices I can do.
Here’s a picture of the MOLLE covered carrier with soft armor and SAPI plates.

agreed, especially in this instance, that “review” would be a better term and even then it’s a stretch as I can only ever report on how a given item works for my purposes, which often isn’t even the intended purpose of the product to begin with! ![]()
If the group buy thing can be worked out, I am in for one and a set of soft armor.
Thanks
+1 to Rider’s comment, I’d also be in for one w/ the soft armor, already have the SAPIs.
I concur. I was using the terms T&E and review as one in the same. I stand corrected.
+1 for group buy. Looking for carrier only though.
