I have two DD Hguards. The 7inch “instal with no tools” free float…and the Omega -X 12.0 FSP. Which has the barrel nut.
Does the barrel nut make it much more sturdy? Any downside to my 7 inch rail?
I am looking to get one more for my Middy. I am naturally looking at the DD Midlength free float. If I want to change my front sight to folding sight, what is the average cost to do that? Is all I need a Gas Block & Folding Sight? which cost on average XX? Anything else I need? What gas block?
If I am happy with my DD rails, is there any issue with this Mid length rail? I know its a lot but you see what I am trying to get my hands around.
The DD 7 inch rail long term stability without the barrel nut?
Is the Middy DD rail the way to go if I want to keep my FSB?
If I want a longer rail, what does it entail to get that done with folding front sight?

if you want the gas block covered on a midlength system, you would have to get a low profile gas block and a 12" rail system. The sight radius on a 12" rail with folding sight is about the same as a front sight tower middy.
If you want to keep your front sight tower you can go with the midlength (9") handguards. I try not to covert gas blocks and do all that, seems like a huge pain. If I wanted a rail covering the gas block I try to get that prebuilt when I order it instead of trying to change it after that fact. Saves a lot of hassle.

My question was regaurding the long term stability of the 7 inch vs one with a barrel nut. But thanks for your thoughts.
