I’m interested in getting a chest rig but would like to see some different options, there is a pic thread for everything else why not a tac rig thread. If your interested post pics of your rig and brief description, if not for my benefit but for others wanting rig advice. I hope its ok I suggest this, I just didnt want to start another “what rig should I get” thread.
Did you do a search?
Never mind the above – I see the last two threads have evolved into some childish comments.
Yes I did do a search for rig pic thread, I also read all the threads I could find that said “help me pick a rig”.
Sorry – yeah the other two threads where deleted.
One of my Bro’s rigs from Afghan

My current CIRAS setup

My old RAV

My LBT Harris Rig

CF DHTC Chest Rig

CF DHTC Patrol Vest

A CF buddies SAW rig

same guy with the CF issue POS

I dont really know what you want it for etc. so its hard to give much more than a flowery photo overview.
I wear a few different rigs depending upon what I am doing.
This is very close to what I want, -6 ar mags
btw-i still havent figured out how to post images the way you did
i have been forum whoring for years and posting pics is different everywhere
I uploaded your pick to my photbucket account. -Kev

First you have to upload your image to an online hosting service. I use ImageShack.
Then copy the “URL”, I use “Direct” so there’s no imbedded clicky crap. Then click on:

and paste in your “URL”.
That’s it.
What Chest rig might that be?
I’m not sure what the rig in the picture is.
But it looks to be a Molle Plate Carrier with several (many) Tactical Tailor mag shingles attached to it.
Still using my trusty So Tech Callahan Plate carrier

Holds the essentials
Easy on
gives me good mobility.
For my needs, 6 AR Mags and 4 G-17 Mags
Camel bak
First Aid kit
Dump pouch
Pretty much solves any problems I will run into now and in the future.![]()
And your trusty “soft” mount.![]()
Old Pic…![]()
I’ll have to get some new pics during class next week…
This is my current chest rig, but I think I’m moving away from the chest rig entirely. For 99% of my shooting I can do just fine with two spare rifle mags and a sigle spare pistol mag all mounted on my pants belt.

you ahhh…wanna sell it?
edit: whats that metalic doohicky on the right there?
It’s the ripcord for my parachute!

I thought it might be the pin for an emergency enema! ![]()
I think that one of those small knives that I can’t think of the name right now.
I know some will disagree with me here – but I am a firm beleiver that if you have a rifle rig – it should have rifle plates in it. Not nec a plate carrier – but have it as well.
Especially for training – just to keep Mr Murphy on the sidelines.
I think it is a Hide-A-Way Knife.
My emergency/truck rig which also double as a light weight/low profile rig. Diz made Alleycat, from an idea I came up with.

Eagle plate carrier. Have made a few changes since this pic.

Eagle Rhodesian Recon Vest. Had it set up for .308, but no longer have a .308. May set it up as a medum weight plate carrier or a dedicated 6.8 rig. Not sure yet.

My primary training rig which also does duty as my primary hurricane rig.

Eagle belt in an ICE MOLLE pad. (the knife was just tossed in for the pic. It isnt on there.)

if you can fit a parachute in that, i’ll take two

I totally agree…
That’s one of the reasons I picked the Callahan, I wanted to have rifle plate to protect the vitals.
Any situation that requires a Rifle/carbine should require rifle protection. It’s kinda like this… if your going up against Tanks… You should have an Anti tank capability, if your going up against Aircraft, then you should have AA capability… if your going against rifles… well… you get the picture.
I like the plate carrier vs. a plate carrier with Soft Armor as a good compromise between armor protection and weight/Mobility. it’s a trade of that I have decided on.
If I operated in an IED type environment, then my requirements would change.
