"Tactical" Discrete SBR bag

I had to throw in the term “tactical” because disguise is a tactic.

Tennis racket case from any local sporting goods or tennis supply store. The barrel is 10.5" with A2 FH, the total length of the gun with the stock fully collapsed is 27". There is an inch or so of space left inside the bag. There is a zippered outside pocket that will accept a few loose 30 round magazines and a couple of other things. The shoulder strap has a padded section for comfort. The cost was just under $34.

A wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I want to find one of these that has pouches for tennis ball tubes. These pouches should hold two 30 round magazines side by side.

The Archangel seems to agree.

Ultra Discreet Weapon Case

2 Thumbs up for the SOTECH Extended GO BAG.

ITF limits length of tennis racquet to 28", hence, it works well for SBRs. For anything longer, you’d have to break your carbine down. You’d probably be made by observant folks who both shoot and play tennis, but this setup is pretty discreet nonetheless.

I just bought one of these from a member on another forum. I guess they’re not made anymore but they hols a 16" collapsed AR15. I haven’t received it yet, but will post more pics when it arrives.

 How about a soft/base ball gear bag? Anyone have one to test?

.

I use a Nike softball bat bag that my best friends kid had for about two seasons. Looks worn but not destroyed, not obvious at all. It does have one big flaw though, when you bring the straps around to put it over your shoulder it kind of lets the imprint of the rifle show through. I took a piece of 1/8" plywood cut down to the length and width of the actual bat compartment and slid it in place. Now it does not show like a rifle but I lost the only compartment other than the main one and I have to keep a smaller bag inside of it to keep spare mags, batteries, etc. with my rifle.

Overall it’s not bad and no one pays attention to it (even when I take it to work) but it could be better. Maybe I just need to get a bigger bat bag. :o

i’ll try to take a pic of mine. it’s a nike softball bag as well. i cut triple layer foam backing board in the shape of the bag. adhered high strength velcro to it and a strap to control the muzzle. now i can carry my rifle and two blackhawk triple mag pouches in it. four pouches for mags, one for a pistol, one pouch with three pistol mags. totally discreet.

Now why didn’t I think of that :p. I guess my wife has a new project this weekend. Anything is better than that loose bag rolling around. And I agree with the discreet thing. I had one guy follow me around wanting to see my “bat” because his son plays softball. Finally just told him I had other stuff in it so he would leave me alone. Sad part is he went to his truck and got his sons brand new bat and wanted to discuss bats and softball the rest of the day. Wanted to tell him that my bat could beat his :D, but I just left it alone.

ok here’s a few pics of my discreet cases

first is a softball bag. i went to the craft store and bought paper backed foam boards. cut them to the size of the bag and glued three of them together. then i bought a cheap weapon case which was like a knock-off blackhawk bag. i stole the mag pouches and the locating straps out of it and attached then to the foam backing plate. then i glued the foam backing plate to the bottom of the bag. now nothing flaps around in there.

it’s got two padded shoulder straps that make carrying it for a long time a breeze. it seems to be very durable.

next is a 26" blackhawk discreet weapon case. it holds an M4 size rifle broken down really well. in the side pouch, i have a 3-mag pouch, a 1911 in a blade tech holster, a mag holder/mag for the pistol, and a mag carrier/mag for the rifle. on the holster and mag carriers, i have attached heavy duty velcro. this helps keep everything from tossing around in the pouch and makes things easy to deploy from the pouch.

on the outside, i painted a DELL logo. now it kinda looks like a briefcase/bag that may have been given out as a promo or a gift from dell.

i don’t get any looks at all with these cases. i live in a 47 story condo, so i’m always in the elevator with someone, and no-one seems to notice.

Here is mine:

They didn’t have one in FDE with pals webbing?

I hope you got the little white shorts to wear when you shoot!

i wish we could have SBR’s here:(

I’m really diggin that softball bag. The Blackhawk bag with the “Dell” logo cracks me up. It still looks like a discreet weapons case but would fool the lay person. Hope no one steals it thinking its a computer!

here’s mine. the side pocket has two pouches which fits 1 20rd AR mag and 1 pistol mag nicely.

i’m trying to find some airline tags and baggage claim stickers. that way it’ll look like the case has gone through an airport and its security. at this point any camo is good camo.

I’ll go ahead and revive this one… I have a Tactical Tailor Phantom Trekker SBR bag. For my needs/uses it is just about perfect. I can fit 2 x AR pistols in it no problem, plus I’ve got a couple of the Blue Force Gear triple-mag holders with the Velcro back inside for extra mag storage. I also carry an extra 12 mags in 6 x mag pouches I take off my rig and throw in the front pocket for when I’m headed to the range. It has side mesh pockets that are perfect for throwing some water bottles in and a top pocket for a cleaning kit, or whatever else you want to throw in there. And there is also a retention system for a rolling up a shooters blanket, or jacket or whatever you want and securing it. One of my favorite things about it is the comfortable waist belt. Really helps if you plan on using it like me when day-hiking or backpacking. And if you do to want to use it as a back pack, the straps hide easily in a zip up portion on the back of the bag. All in all it’s great, they really seemed to think of everything with this one.

Go to your local airport and grab address labels. A ticket agent can give you a gate-check tag. You can also hit the garbage right outside baggage claim for regular check bag tags. Alternatively, ask a friend flying for their baggage tag when they get back. Keep all of your own when you fly.

These work pretty well.

Holy thread revival from the dead!
